Fake your death

"So answer me, when we're you going to tell me?" Amina asked.

"I was not going to tell you, honestly. Not after you thought I hurt myself. Besides, I felt you would not believe me," Iyare explained, while Amina forged annoyance, "There are many ways to prove yourself," she snapped.

"Oh my God, honestly, I had a feeling that you were still alive when I saw that message, but I never imagined meeting my chubby as a beautiful boss lady," Amina commented, happy and got up to hug her friend.

Shelley was shocked when she walked into the scene of the two ladies hugging; "What on earth was going on?" She asked herself.

"You nutty fellow, how could you fake your death. Tell me, when did you learn to have a criminal mind? ?" Amina asked, still hugging Her friend. Honestly, she has missed Iyare since she was her only true friend.

Iyare hugged her back; there was no point explaining the truth to her friend. Who in their right mind will believe some supernatural being saved her

"Chubby," Amina smiled as she pinched her cheeks. "Oh my goodness, so skinny," Amina pouted her lips and complained.

"I knew you always had this beautiful face. Oh my goodness, I will take a picture of you and post it on all my social media accounts. I will make sure to tag those fools who called you fat and ugly," Amina said.

"No, don't do that," Iyare immediately refused; nobody should remember what she looked like; what was the point of killing two people, Iyare thought. Louis must explain what went wrong; if her childhood changed, how did Amina not forget. She will ask him the next time she has something urgent to ask him.

"Okay, I understand," Amina said before taking her seat; Iyare had already buried her past. She wanted to tell her friend about the state she met her mother, but she swallowed it when Shelley announced her presence. "You look happy," she said, looking at Amina.

"I am happy," Amina agrees, smiling. She should have thought of it when she saw all her favourite meals line up on the table.

"So, does that mean you are staying?" Shelley asked.

Amina looked at Iyare and saw that she was hoping for the same answer.

"That depends on you if you are willing to employ a wanted person," Amina said.

Iyare chuckled, "So you finally got yourself into trouble?" She asked. She always knew that Amina would get into trouble with the kind of client she got involved with.

Amine gave Iyare a shy smile, "don't say it," she said.

Iyare raised her hands to mean she did not plan to say anything. Just then, Amina's phone started ringing. Amina's heart missed a beat.

She hoped she would be done with breakfast before his call came in.

She could not even hurry back into her room to take the call; the house felt annoyingly big currently.

Sighing in her head, she took a deep breath before picking up the call.

"Hey, babe," Amina said with a warm smile when she picked up the phone. She mentally made the sign of the cross. Ohio will be very angry at her if he finds out she lied to him. She knew he had insecurities issues; he may think she went to meet another man.

"Sweet, how is your day going?" Ohio answered from the phone screen while smiling at her.

"I am doing good," Amina answered.

"What are you doing? Did you guys not go shopping?" He asked.

"Of course we did, we just finished shopping, and we are currently eating dinner," Amina lied.

Iyare was looking at her friend, who was helplessly playing with her fingers while lying. Amina is a good liar, but when she cares about someone, she finds it difficult to lie to them. So Iyare could understand how her friend was feeling at that moment.

"Oh! I see; let me say hello to Ema," Ohio said.

Amina's heart missed a beat. "She went to use the restroom," she gave the first excuse that came to mind.

"Are you at home already?" Ohio asked while trying to look at where his girlfriend was seated.

"Not yet; we went to see a friend of my cousin; you remember Tara, right?" Amina asked.

"Yes, how is she doing?" He asked.

"She is fine," Amina replied, holding her breath. She knew he was already suspecting something, but how could she tell him she was halfway across the world.

"Babe, you look exhausted. You should rest. Besides, I guess it's late where you are?" Amine tried to change the topic.

"Yes, it's pretty late. I should go to bed," Ohio said.

"Alright, babe, sleep well. Remember, I love you," Amina Said. She could not wait to end the call.

"Love you more," he replied and hung up.

Amina released the breath she had been holding. "I see you are still a great liar," she heard Iyare's voice.

"The guy is overprotective and insecure. He would have gotten worried if I told him I was travelling here. Especially after what happened the last time," Amina explained.

"I understand, but you would have to tell him the truth, especially now that you are getting a job. You will accept my offer, right?" Iyare asked with hopeful eyes.

"I want to accept it, but I will have to discuss it with him first," Amina replied

Even if she and Ohio planned to relocate, she knew she could not pressure him to come to Quee city. It was so far. She had nothing to worry about, but Ohio was different. He had a family, his parents and siblings.

Iyare bit her lower lips; she was hopeful that Amina would come. Especially since nothing was holding the girl back in Ng, she was an orphan, and her extended family did not care much about her. That was why she got involved in illegal activities to get herself through school in the first place. Who would have thought she would be in a committed relationship.

"Do you think you will be able to convince him to move?" Iyare asked.

"I don't know; we were planning on leaving Ng. The place is not particularly safe for me since my last employer is after my life, but I don't know if he would be willing to move this far. Getting a job is already a good sign, but Ohio is a very proud man. He may not be willing to move if all our expenses are on me since I was the one that got the job. Besides, we can't afford to live in Quee city. He may reject the idea," Amina answered honestly.

Hmm, Iyare bows her head to think. She needed a friend and experienced person, like Amina, who she could trust. "What does he do?" Iyare asked when she got an idea.

"He is a marketer; he is currently the marketing manager for his branch," Amina replied. She was obviously proud of him.

"That's good, Shelley, the company needs a marketer, right?" Iyare asked.

"Yes," Shelley answered. Of course, there was no need for a marketer in the company, but the big boss could employ anyone at any time. Besides, Shelley understands her boss. It seems her friend will not agree if she realises that her Iyare was hiring her boyfriend because she needed her.

"See, beautiful coincident," Iyare said with a smile.

Amina smiled, she knew her friend was lying, but she played along. It would be nice if they could move here. At least she will get to do what she loves and not get in trouble. Most importantly, she will not get Ohio worried.

"You are going to send his Cv to Shelley, she will run it by the PR department, and they will contact him. You can tell him you saw the advertisement and sent his CV since you were planning to relocate. Once he sees the job offer, I am sure he will be willing to move. All you need do is apply a little push, and you will be here," Iyare explain.

Amina nod. She understood Iyare's plans. Ohio may feel better motivated if he gets a good job here. Once he tells her about it, they could move here together.

"I want to be on the next flight back; he is almost catching up with my lies. If I get caught, then I will have to forget about working for you or forget about the relationship, and I don't want that," Amina said.

"Alright, finish your breakfast. I will see you next month," Iyare said, getting up from her seat. Shelley, please get in touch with Peter to make all the arrangements and send Amina to the Airport," Iyare instructed.

"Are you going to the office?" Shelley asked while trying to book the next flight to Ng for Amina.

"Yes, I am. Did you not say my attention is needed in the office? Besides, it is only four days before the meeting. I need to review all the ongoing projects," Iyare said.

"Amina, I will have to leave now; call me when you get back to Ng," she said and hugged her friend before leaving the dining area with Shelley following behind.
