Freak Continent

The green sun shines brightly on desert sand. Without warning, the winds suddenly turned into gales before it kicked up the desert sand and formed a monstrously dense sandstorm the size of a kaiju. Anything that got close to this sandstorm would be torn into shreds, even their ashes would have been swept away by the gales.

But when the day became night, a flash of blue light appeared within the deadly sandstorm before one could make out two new human silhouettes. When the two silhouettes landed in the middle of the sandstorm, the human couldn't help but curse out loud.

"You ghostly bastard, where the f**k did you bring us to now??" While spreading his divine sense to get ahold of their bearings, Horu growled at the ethereal being beside him.

"Uhh, we seem to have landed in a post-apocalyptic world called...Freak Continent. Huh, sounds stupid." The ethereal being called Sion checked his mobile teleporter's lcd screen before replying. Just then, the mobile teleporter in the ethereal being's hand started emitting smoke before it exploded due to overheating issues.

Seeing their only way back home was in shambles, Horu and Sion cursed out loudly together. "F**k! The mobile teleporter blew up!"

"Xingluo clearly promised us that his new invention wouldn't malfunction...Instead, it blew up! F**k, was the technology he used in making the mobile teleporter from Samsung?!?! How are we going to get back now?"

"Well Horu, this is what you asked for."

"I did not ask for this."

"Oh come on, although this post-apocalyptic world is barely hospitable, you did ask for an adventure, no?"

"Tch, I asked for an exciting retirement, not an adventure in a shitty world called Insane Continent."

Just after Horu had retired from his position as council leader, he had asked his grand elder to make him an invention that would allow him and the ghost to travel freely in the neighboring continent. Who could have known that the invention his grand elder made would overheat and explode just after one use? Certainly not the human nor the ghost.

Seeing that they were stranded in this world for the time being, the human and the ghost decided to use their divine capabilities to explore this Insane Continent for a bit. Maybe save some beauties, destroy some sects, cripple a few young masters, or just outright live the life of a mortal for a few generations till they are able to go back home.

After picking a general direction where there were a lot of spirits roaming about, Horu pulled down his hood as he began trekking through the sandstorm. While continuing to search for life in this barren desert, Sion would occasionally release his own spiritual sense to check his surroundings as he followed behind his human companion.

1 hour later...

"Any luck?" [Sion]

"Not much can be seen in this sandstorm, even with my divine sense. Tch, but from the lack of radiation in the air, I can confirm that this post-apocalyptic world was not caused by a nuclear war. So even if we are to encounter mutants, them being the old inhabitants of this world is highly unlikely." [Horu]

"I see...Well, it's pretty much the same with me here. After using my spiritual sense for the past hour, I noticed that the amount of spiritual energy in this desert is so abundant that I can confirm, cultivators that can fly or move mountains do not exist yet. The strongest cultivators of this world are at most impervious to heat and cold." [Sion]

"So...their strongest is only about the level of a peak Nascent Soul cultivator? Guess we're dominating this realm with just our pinkies then." [Horu]

But just as Horu finished speaking, Sion thought of another question.

"Hey, Horu?"

"Hm? What's up?"

"Since our mobile teleporter exploded and we are left stranded here in this post-apocalyptic world of mystery, I had thought that anything we find in this desert would have to be carried by hand but...don't you have an inventory we can take advantage of?"

"Oh, crap! That's right! Just before my retirement, I had my best friend Blake help me gather up all the pieces of a real ancient system. I think the system I crafted was called the Wasteland Wanderer System?"

The moment Horu spoke out the name of the system, a holographic panel the size of a school table appeared before the two.

"Aha! It works! It...why is it so big?" [Horu]

"The Wasteland Wanderer System...as a ghost who's been wandering the myriad realms for millions of years, I have never heard of this particular system." [Sion]

"Neither have I.....All I can say is, where the f**k is this system panel's settings? The icons and words on the panel are so large it's actually painful to look at them." [Horu]

"What do you mean where's the settings icon? It's right over there besides the inventory icon." Using his spiritual energy to form an arrow, Sion pointed the arrow at a silver gear icon with the words 'settings' under the icon in big, bold letters.

"Oh, there it is...I'm blind."
