Bad Influence (Ch.21)

Kelevi heard the door to his beloved's home finally open, it had been almost half a day since she had run from him and for the past couple of hours, his heart had been ridden with unease.

Kelevi had barely restrained himself from going to her and begging for her to hear him out, for her to give him a chance to prove he was not the monster she thought he was,

For her to understand that he had waited so long and had searched so hard, that he had come all this way for her...to find her and to take her home with him, to stay by his side for all eternity... right where she belonged.

But how could Kelevi explain all of these to a mortal without scaring her anymore than she already was?

How could Kelevi convince her to accept his love and remain at his side?

These were the thoughts that had plagued Kelevi's mind all the while up until this moment.

Kelevi headed over to his window and pulled aside the curtains, his eyes widened slightly as his breath caught in his throat the moment he sighted his beloved as she stepped out of her home.

"Creator's fang! What is she wearing?" Kelevi murmured as his body heated up and the flames of desire surged within him.

His beloved Kaylani was dressed in a skimpy black dress that clung to her and accentuated her curves perfectly,

The dress stopped short just a little ways below her derriere and her long legs were on full display, further highlighted by the heels she wore.

Her black tresses was pulled into a half updo which framed her face perfectly and her silver orbs gleamed brightly.

Her face was devoid of make up, her skin tender and flawless and Kelevi struggled to remember exactly how to breathe properly when faced with such a sight.

Kelevi watched her step into the car, his heart constricting in concern and possessiveness.

While Kelevi was relieved to see the sight of him had not completely horrified his mate to the extent that she didn't step out anymore,

It was an hour to midnight and Kelevi wondered where exactly his beloved could be heading at such an hour dressed in such tight, revealing clothing.

Somehow, Kelevi knew this had all been the idea of that loud female who had knocked on his door today and he frowned deeply at the thought, affirming his first notion that the loud female was a bad influence.

Kelevi recalled Terin had told him that the mortal realm in recent times had become more and more dangerous, with supernatural creatures prowling the darkness.

This was so late in the night and they were just two mortal females,

Young and breathtakingly beautiful as his beloved was, she was one of the more endangered types favored by supernatural predators.

Kelevi released a deadly hiss at the mere thought of his beloved falling prey to any of those lusty creatures and as the car pulled out of the driveway, he wasted no time storming out of his home.
