The Three Strengths of Humanity

As Cain and El were still suffering from the pain and anguish of a hundred lives, their Fenrir was forcefully dispelled. They shrunk to less than two-meter human bodies made of flesh and blood. El was no longer moving as the mage fell to the ground without grace nor poise; her eyes seemed devoid of life. Concerned, Cain helped her sit up and placed his right hand on her left cheek, trying to bring her back.

"El? Love? It's all right; I am here. We are together. Those are all bad memories from another life. Stay focused on the here and now."

As the black-haired mage felt the warmth on her cheek, her eyes focused on the face of the one she loved the most. El heard the affectionate whispers of reassurance her husband uttered. Thus, she could bring herself back from the brink of hopelessness.
