The Police

Several police cars arrived on the scene shortly after receiving a call from a neighbor.

The police quickly sealed and controlled the scene and surveyed the scene inside and out. Several police officers were taking notes with the black clothes at the location and nearby witnesses who lived nearby. There was an argument between two police officers when the man in black was about to take Jenny's lock into the car.

The town's sheriff, Howard, and his assistant, Jennifer, turned over the security tape and walked into the messy scene.

Howard is a man in his fifties with a strong body and a mustache. His assistant, Jennifer, is a chubby woman with a fair complexion and a soft face.

The two walked towards the quarrel at the scene.

"I'm sorry, guys, but who can tell me the situation first?" Howard looked at the young police officer in front of him and the men in black who were about to take Jenny away.

A young police officer gave him a detailed description of the scene. The other party said they were independent military weapon technology research and development departments under the National Security Agency. They arrested an arms smuggling leader, and the other two escaped. Easy to disclose.

"I want to say can't do this like this. I don't care which department you are from; this is my jurisdiction; arresting people is the job of our police, and this woman is the only clue at the scene, so it must be. Follow us back to the police station to assist in the investigation."

Howard's eyes are firm, and his tone is vital. In the middle of the words, he glanced at the woman who was mummified by the chains, and there was a hint of surprise on his face as if he was talking about such a weak woman; her eyes were blurred, and her feet were limp, looked like a hangover—dangerous person.

Two young police officers were about to step forward to take Jenny. Still, the man in black beside her pulled out a gun simultaneously. Howard's group was surprised by their sudden action, and out of instinct, they also pulled out guns to confront each other.

"Hey, hey! Relax, put down the gun!"

Howard pressed down the gun in Jennifer's hand, patted the two young officers on the shoulders, motioned for them to relax, and put down their weapons.

The man with the big back also passed through several men in black and stood in front. The glamorous woman who followed him gave them a look, and the men in black naturally understood the meaning and put the gun back into their waists.

"I'm their leader; my name is Carlo; let's go and talk about it."

"Hello, this is Sun City Sheriff Howard; my assistant, Jennifer."

After a handshake, Howard and Carlo walked to a quieter place down the street. The two stopped under a big phoenix tree, and Carlo took out a cigarette and handed it to Howard. After lighting it, they each smoked a smoke ring.

"I think you heard it just now. We are the independent military weapons technology research and development department under the Security Bureau. This woman stole our related technologies, and these technologies are highly confidential. They must not be known to any second person. Therefore, it's essential to us. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Of course I understand, but I can't accept it. We have our rules of doing things and our procedures. So, sorry, I can't help you. Of course, for the classified technology you just mentioned, we will be in the process of interrogation. Until the midpoint."

Howard stepped on the cigarette butts under his feet with black leather shoes, which also manifested his end of the topic. After he turned and didn't take two steps, Carlo stopped him from behind.

"Sheriff Howard, I have your phone number."

Howard turned around and answered the phone suspiciously. Although the voice on the phone was not so evident in the slightly noisy street, he still recognized the other party when the other party called out his name - Deputy Mayor Snyder.

Howard's face became ugly, and his frowning brows were deformed by excessive force.

"OK! OK! But I have one condition", he looked at Carlo, "their people must come to the police station with me to assist in the investigation."

Carlo shrugged, spread his hands, and made an expression of approval.

"Yeah, I think he's OK, OK, that's it." Howard hung up.

Howard handed the phone back to Carlo. Go back on your own. The two returned to the crowd, Howard immediately ordered the team to close, and colleagues looked puzzled. Howard looked at Carlo with a hint of helplessness in his tone. "You take it away."

"But, sir..." Jennifer's words were interrupted by Howard's raised hand.

"You guys go back with the justice police officers to assist in the investigation," Carlo said to the men in black.

"No, it's not him and him; it's all of them." Howard's eyes were condensed, and the closed lips made the nasolabial lines on his face deeper like ravines, making his whole person reveal an indescribable expression of majesty.

The big man standing beside Carlo let out a contemptuous sneer. At the same time, the glamorous woman in a sexy dress chewed gum with disdain.

Jenny seemed to regain consciousness gradually, although her legs were still limp, and her head almost dropped to the ground; I believe that if there were no arms of the two beside her, she would have fallen to the ground. However, she could still vaguely hear her words in the repeated whispers, "I'm going to the police station; I won't go with them."

Howard noticed Jenny's performance, and Jenny's words couldn't help but make Howard suspicious and begin to regret his decision just now, but it was already impossible.

Carlo tried his best to hide his surprise in front of the police. He didn't expect Jenny to regain consciousness so quickly and even start talking.

However, Howard noticed the slight expression on the face of the man in black beside Jenny.

"Follow them," Carlo said to his subordinates, "cooperate with the investigation, and go now."

Howard pursed his lips at Carlo, and Carlo walked towards Jenny. She was tightly bound by the iron chain with an expressionless face.

Several police officers walked to the police car with Carlo's men while Carlo supported Jenny.

But when Carlo tried to put her in the car, the words she muttered again caught Howard's attention and made Howard memorize it, "Jenny, St. Mary's Orphanage."
