Negotiation

After preparing himself, Brian splashed water on the unknown scientist's face and started with his first attempt to take him as a subordinate.

"Hello Brother J" Brian started his attempt with the most gentle tone he knew.

"Huh!"

"What!"

"Where am I?"

"Who are you?"

"Why have you tied me like this?" The scientist was flustered by the change in his surroundings and panicked. He started blabbering whatever came to his mind without thinking.

Brian literally was twitching. He was trying his utmost to not beat the shit out of the scientist.

'How the hell could someone be so dumb yet so smart?' were the thoughts in his mind.

Gathering himself, he once again spoke in the same gentle tone.

"My name is Alexander. May I know your name?"

"Me?"

"I…I-My"

"My name is Allen Gard"

He gathered himself and spoke his name in a proud tone, understanding the situation.

Unexpectedly, he also had the capital to be proud of. That could easily be seen by the change of expression on Brian's face. Even though he was specially trained as a soldier and had even prepared himself for any unexpected circumstance, he couldn't control his emotions after hearing that name.

He wasn't sure about the details, but he just remembered that the encyclopedia of electrochemistry he read was written by someone called Allen J. Gard.

"Allen J. Gard?" He asked while suppressing his emotions to not show his eagerness.

"Yes!" Allen said in a proud tone

"oh!"

"Well, I don't understand why you become proud of your name but it doesn't concern me. So shall we begin our discussion?"

Brian changed his tone from nonchalant to slightly cold. With just a few words from his mouth, he already understood that Allen was a tough nut to crack, and a gentle approach won't work.

Allen was a little disheartened by understanding that the man in front of him doesn't know his achievements. By using his name, he hoped to prove his worth and get slight freedom to research and then plan to escape. After all, he wasn't a fool and knew the current situation he was in.

"Seems like you understood. So shall we start?" Brian spoke in a bone-chilling voice giving chills to Allen

A long and heated discussion followed by some concessions by both people led to almost a never-ending argument.

On one hand, Allen J Gard was unwilling to leave his original achievements and pride to live as a subordinate of Brian. He was willing to die but not to become a slave. Being more than 80 years old, he was really persistent and had no fear of death.

On the other hand, Brian was unwilling to leave such a good subordinate to die. He considered killing him and taking his scientific 'help' but the most efficient way would be to capture him. Using the 'help' that could make Hydrochloric acids in a wasteland only once, was too wasteful for Brian.

Eventually, Allen J Gard accepted Brian's final offer, which said that he wouldn't have to become a subordinate but he will have zero freedom. Brian will be responsible for his food and safety while he had to work hard and work for Brian.

Having no freedom sounded very harsh, but it was acceptable for a researcher who spent most of his life surrounded by research papers and chemicals.

Brian didn't torture the old man as he wasn't sure how much he could handle, and moreover he got what he wanted in the end. He knew that he will have many methods to make Allen his subordinate in future.

"Now that the conditions are decided, tell me about your 'help'" Brian asked casually, completely different from when they were discussing the conditions.

"Er… umm…"

"My help is called [Elemental cube]

Just as the name suggests, I can buy elements of the periodic table through Creation Points. The only drawback is that I can only buy the elemental cube and can't decide the elements contained in it. It is like a lucky draw in which there are 118 options and I will get only one.

Another drawback is that I will only get the element in the state present in nature. For example, Aluminium exists in solid state in free state, but as soon as it comes in contact with Oxygen it reacts vigorously and forms Aluminium Oxide. In short, I can't get elements like Uranium which is used for making Nuclear bombs as they can't exist in air and I don't have any method to store them.

But the 'help' always has a way to upgrade and my upgrade direction is to eventually be able to choose what I want for the minimum cost. The skill I was saving my Creation Points for, allows me to choose whether I want metal, metalloids or Non-Metals."

He was hesitant, but then told about the details of how he achieved everything he currently has, along with the important specifics of his 'help'

Brian was not able to understand everything he blabbered but he still knew the basics and just went with the flow. He had already started taking precautions towards Allen and not allowing him to make any fishy moves.

After pondering for a bit, Brian asked his familiars to transport everything from Allen's lab to his own. He decided to convert his newly built warehouse into a lab.

Allen's bunker was already in a loose state and had the risk of crumbling.

Brian then, let the familiars continue the transportation of materials, while he himself left to hunt for Creation Points. He could also have chosen to make things and get Creation Points, but he preferred the way of destruction.

*Peng*

'Second Style of Ghost Reaper Scythe'

"Swish"

[+218 Creation Points]

"Huff, huff" Brian caught his breath before collecting the remains of the fallen animal.

He was also wondering about efficiently killing animals with chemicals made by Allen but he also wondered about who will get the Creation Points from the killings, the Creator or the Destroyer.

After doing the needful, Brian cut the most tender piece of meat and ate it raw. Although the taste was awful, but Brian was used to it. Scientifically, raw meat is harmful for our body but only after certain consumption.

He suddenly remembered about the animal remains he put up on |Trade Centre| earlier.

Brian went through the Human Trade page to find something but unfortunately, there was no stupid man giving away things. Moreover, he himself felt like a stupid man.

When he had earlier listed the remains of the elephant, he didn't care to check the prices of the items and directly sold them off at his estimated price. Unfortunately, he forgot that the prices of everything were jumbled up. A single pair of plant clothes were being sold for 1800 Creation Points while an important resource like wood was being sold for just 10 Creation Points each log.

Listing anything on the Trade Channel costs 100 Creation Points without exceptions. Even if someone listed something for 110 Creation Points and it gets bought by someone, he will only get 10 Creation Points while the rest 100 will get robbed away by the system. He felt like an idiot to have listed something as precious as elephant tusks for 400 Creation Points.

He also saw some scammers already making money from the stupid people.

Well whatever be the situation, there are always some humans who can't stop fantasizing about becoming the 'savior' or 'hero' and feel that the stone is the so-called Monster core and the scammer is stupid to not understand its value.

Brian rested a bit more while checking the [Human Chat] before getting up to continue his hunt for Creation Points and levels.
