"So, in essence," I concluded, "By the time you are back from your boon century, the humans who had known of your existence would have… died?"

Edna nodded again.

I was stunned. "Do you return to the same place or do you move to a different region after the boon century had ended?"

"At—at times," she answered.

I remembered the folk tales and written stories kept by previous generations. Far-fetched tales about dragons, demons, werewolves, and so on.
