"Elysia." Linda called worriedly.
"Aunt Linda?" Elysia sat up, looking around. The last thing she remembered was being in the woods and seeing a pair of red eyes.
"Oh, Elysia." Linda pulled her in a hug. "You scared me."
"How did I get here?" Elysia asked.
"We found you at the gates last night. You should have just said you were going out." Linda held her shoulders.
"Aren't you going to scold me?" Elysia raised her brows.
"Here, eat this. I found it out of the things you brought home. I used some magic to preserve it since last night." Linda served her the soup June gave her.
"Oh, thank you." Elysia smiled and winced. "Ow. My leg."
"Oh yes, you broke your ankle, and might not be able to use it well for a few weeks." Linda explained, showing her the leg in cast and Elysia took a deep breath.
"I apologize for sneaking out Aunt Linda. I just wanted to see how the outside world looked like." Elysia apologized and Linda patted her head.
"I understand, and I'm proud of you for fighting Adonia. I would have been there earlier if it wasn't for someone who kept me in a barrier the whole time." Linda frowned.
"Let me guess. Mother?" Elysia asked and Linda nodded. "She's one mean woman."
"You know I'm here, right?" Lucinda walked in and snarled at Linda.
"I'll give you two sometime alone, so someone won't bite me into pieces." Linda frowned before walking out.
Lucinda walked to Elysia and sat next to her. "How are you feeling?"
"I don't look fine." Elysia frowned, eating the soup before her.
"I heard what you told Adonia last night. It…it made me realize I haven't been a good mother to you." Lucinda sighed before looking up at Elysia who was surprised what the woman before her just said. The spoon of soup she was about to eat was left hanging. "I'm so sorry, Elysia."
Elysia dropped the spoon she was about to take into her mouth and looked at Lucinda with teary eyes. "Who do you hate me so much?"
"Elysia. The truth is what Adonia told you. I never wanted to have you. I made a mistake by falling in love with your father and having you." Lucinda said in a very low and sad voice. "He used me. And when I knew, it was too late. I tried to abort you then, but I couldn't bring myself to, so I made you stop growing for two years, but you broke free, and I had no choice but to have you. The truth is, Elysia, I was cursed for taking what wasn't mine. I took another woman's man and…and she cursed me. Then I had my first child. I watched him die before me." Lucinda said with tears rolling down her eyes. "I watched him die before my eyes. He was in so much pain and agony, I couldn't take it, but I was unable to do anything. Even death never came near me. If I jump into a volcano, I would come back out alive and have the mark of trying to die. When I knew about you after making a mistake, the truth is I wanted to avoid having you because I want to avoid watching you die like your brother died. It wasn't because of anything that as to do with my curse. I didn't want you to know what I look like because I thought you being away from me would make you safer. I just don't want to say the truth since all these days, that's why I used my curse as an excuse for everyone. But…but I couldn't bring myself not to tell you the truth."
Elysia held Lucinda's hand as she cried. Elysia didn't know a woman like Lucinda would cry.
"I didn't want you to be exposed to danger in the outside world because that is the only thing that can kill you if they get you…you would die and the whole world."
"Wait what? The whole world?"
"You hold the power of destruction and chaos, Elysia. Your father passed it on to you, but you're more powerful. You were gifted with the ability to hold all the powers so no one in the world would own it again. You have two sides, the destruction and chaos and the creation and balance." Lucinda explained.
"I don't understand." Elysia frowned and Lucinda held her hand tighter, and she was suddenly in another place. She saw Lucinda on her knees and a woman on a large throne.
The light from the woman was blinding, but Elysia could make her out. The woman has white hair and her throne was made with flowing water and clouds, which surprised Elysia.
"Lucinda. This child with you isn't just any child. Elysia holds a powerful gift. In her, she has the power of destruction and chaos which was given to her because of the father she has, and she also has the power of creation and balance. The good side is keeping the bad side from taking over because if it does, the world will be in grave danger." The woman said.
"Why was she given that?" Lucinda asked.
"Elysia isn't just like any other child. Her having two parents from powerful backgrounds made her the right person. You know your mother wasn't just any type of witch. She is two different creatures. A witch and the other side you shouldn't know about. That other side is what Elysia chose and then since she had the powers were given to her by the heavens. Her father's dark side is the reason she was given the powers of destruction. She has all the powers of destruction to keep it safe."
"But if she awakens it, it won't only destroy her, but the whole world." Lucinda gasped.
"Yes, Lucinda. It is a great responsibility. That is why you should try your best to raise her with a pure heart and intentions, so she wouldn't be dark like her father. If you raise her like this, it would have its consequences and advantages. Her father would be after her, and so as other creatures. But if you don't raise her this way….her father would use her to destroy the whole world."
"Her father doesn't know I had her." Lucinda said.
"He does know Lucinda, but he is waiting for the time she would turn to the dark side. He is sending those minors to make her dark side come out. All their aims are wrong because only one thing can make her dark side come out." The woman said gently.
"And what is that?" Lucinda asked.
"She would know when the time comes. But we would just have to pray it doesn't come soon because it is inevitable, the time would come that she would turn dark. It can't be avoided."
"But the world?" Lucinda asked.
"That is why you should let her learn how to be good now because that side of her won't let the world be ruined." The woman said, and Elysia was back in her room stunned.
"No. No way. That's impossible. I don't want to be the cause of the end of the world. Please mother, do something." Elysia screamed.
"You've been holding this power in you, Elysia. You're only using the witch powers I passed on to you. Those two are locked in you until your awakening, but I can feel your power of Creation and balance leaking out. That's why you're being wanted by Adonia." Lucinda sighed.
"No." Elysia fell back on bed.
"It's all my fault. If I hadn't made a mistake again, maybe this would not have happened. I am just worried about that day you would turn dark, Elysia. That's why I have been away. I would have to watch you die like your brother because if you try to hold back the power from destroying the world, it might destroy you instead." Lucinda said and Elysia couldn't help but close her eyes attempting to imagine all this was a dream. Her mother never told her anything, but it wasn't working.
"Please, I want to be alone." Elysia said, attempting to process everything.
"Okay. I'll check up on you later." Lucinda walked out of the room, coming face to face with Linda, Daria, and Theo.
"Okay Lucinda. You've been keeping this for eighteen years. Are you crazy? You can't seriously just hide that, and that of why you were cursed for three thousand seven hundred and ninety six years." Daria yelled. "Wow. You're an old woman, but seriously Lucinda."
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't bring myself to tell anyone." Lucinda sighed.
"So you didn't shut yourself from the world because you're tired of changing cultures, it's because you've been thinking about that, right? Seriously Lucy, this isn't cool. We could have helped you." Theo sighed.
"Uh hello there's nothing there to help, didn't you hear me say inevitable? She would turn dark eventually. That's why I had Linda take care of her. It's Linda who has never had any dark memory or secret because she never made a mistake. She's only living this long because she was cursed, all because of me too." Lucinda hissed.
"Who told you I don't have any dark secret or memories? I had to go over, watching my children die before my eyes. It wasn't only you, Lucinda. And mind you, I was cursed because I did something to deserve it." Linda said ever so cool.
"Still, you were trying to help me." Lucinda sighed.
"Yeah. I know." Linda frowned and hit Lucinda across the face. "You're so stupid. I can't even say how stupid you are. I just want to beat you up and kill you if possible. You wouldn't keep that from us, of all people."
"Linda, that really hurts." Lucinda frowned, rubbing her face.
"I expected it to be." Linda yelled.
