Sleep

Tim came running from his room moments after the sound went off with a panicked look on his face, "Did you guys hear that sound?!" He said in panic and confusion not looking outside the cabin window to see what the sound caused.

Jonathan and the other three that were already in the living room shared Tim's confusion but before they could explain what they saw outside with the lights going out The Watcher appeared once more on a screen in the middle of the cabin room.

"Hello everyone, it's me again your favorite person! I'm here to tell you the final thing you need to know about the resting room for now. Currently, everyone is in the lights off section of the day. As I'm sure you're well aware there is no sun or moon present in the games and there won't be in the future so we have our own cycle. After every game you will be given a set amount of time to wander about and do whatever you people do during your resting time but when the lights go out you can consider it to be night hours. During this time everyone is required to be within the confines of their sleeping bag but if you're in the cabin these rules do not apply to you. The people that have access to the cabin may control their light and do whatever they want until the next game begins. With that, all of you not inside the cabin now have 5 minutes to enter your sleeping bags or you will be given a disciplinary shock, bye now!" The Watcher said in surprisingly one breath before disappearing like he was never there.

"Why does he always do that?!" Derek complained in anger after The Watcher disappeared. Tim and Sam seemed to be in agreement while Angela didn't even give The Watcher a second glance as she began eating her snacks once more after he finished talking.

Jonathan, on the other hand, had been looking toward the outside area wondering how they were hearing the same message but when he peeked out he realized that the same screen had been playing above them similar to when they first saw the force field. Jonathan then began checking if what The Watcher said was indeed true and sure enough when Jonathan peeked outside the window toward the sleeping bag areas there was a 5-minute timer slowly counting down.

As for the cabin itself, the lights were still on and everything was working the same as it had before, "He likes to mess with us." Jonathan said suddenly responding to Derek's question on why The Watcher was always the way he was.

"You mean he likes to just dump us in a new and bad situation?" Derek questioned after hearing Jonathan's answer. Tim and the rest were also looking toward Jonathan wondering what he meant by that.

"I think he likes being able to shape the way we act and think." Jonathan said reinforcing the idea in his mind on the way he thought The Watcher truly was on the inside.

The rest thought that would be quite strange at first but the more they thought about it the more it made sense. After a moment of thought everyone was in agreement except for Angela who couldn't care less and was still chowing down on her snacks.

With the new rules made clear, Jonathan began thinking about what advantage he could have by still being awake when others were stuck in their sleeping bags more than likely asleep but when he came up with nothing he decided that there was a better alternative to staying up.

"Even though we have the extra time to stay awake I think it would be smart to get some rest. We still have no idea how this works and I'm going to sleep while I still can, see you guys later." Jonathan said as he stood up.

"I agree, I will see you guys later. Sleep well everyone." Tim said in agreement as he began walking back toward his room more than likely going to continue what he was doing since they had first arrived and that was to lay on the bed with a happy expression.

Tim even nodded in agreement as he stood up and made his way toward the bedrooms. That left Angela, Derek, and Jonathan left in the living room. When Jonathan looked toward the other two they each had their own response.

"I think I'm just going to sit around here for a while there's still a bunch of stuff in the fridge I want to try." Derek said making his way back to the kitchen to grab whatever he was talking about.

"Snacks." That was the only word that came out of Angela's mouth as she continued to chip at her snack pile.

Jonathan didn't even try and stop Angela since she seemed to be quite serious with her current endeavor. With everyone going their own ways Jonathan also made his way back to his room where he laid down on the bed resting his head on the pillow as he put himself under the covers making himself comfortable.

With a moment to himself, Jonathan began thinking about everything that had happened so far in the game from the people he met to the terrifying game they had played earlier in the day. The scary thing was that it didn't seem like there was an end in sight. Instead it looked like it was just the beginning of the game that lay ahead.

'If I want to survive I will need all the energy I can get.' Jonathan thought to himself as he finally tossed away the rest of his thoughts for now and let the sweet embrace of sleep take over him as he finally got some rest for the first time since he had arrived in the games.

Sadly for Jonathan the rest felt like only a moment because as soon as he finally closed his eyes they were opened once more with a ringing sound in his head, "What is that?!" Jonathan said in anger before even opening his eyes.
