Green Town

After a lot of inner conflicts, Pel gave Crista his nano suit since he already had invisibility as one of his abilities. The threshold of Green Town was being guarded strictly by powerful Awakeners. One would ask, wasn't it already enough attention for so many of them to be guarding this small town?, but the Telons didn't seem to care at all.

Taking extra measures in order not to get caught, Pel also put on a nano suit and his last one, he didn't trust his ability over his own stuff, resulting in the current situation. Pained he and Crista entered the town undetected.

It was as if they had stepped into a different world, one with no sun. The town reeked of never-ending gloom and people walked with so much caution that it won't be a surprise if they were to jump and their own shadow.

Dark clouds hovered above their head, but there was no rain neither was there sunlight, in fact the air was dry, as if it was breathing you instead.

"Don't take off the suit, this place gives me the creeps" Pel warned and shivered. If anything, he was easily creeped out and disgusted and who knows what could be hiding in the air they breathe, at least he was sure they were out of harm's way as the suit had a filter system.

"What happened to this place?" Crista gasped at the state of the town, not many things were left in good condition, people included.

"I do not know and it might come to a point where I do not wish to find out. Let's go, we're starting to gain attention by standing in the same place"

Crista turned around and saw that the residents were indeed glancing their way. The stealth function was turned off and they were people clad from head to toe in a black skin suit so of course they would gain attention.

Little children filled the streets, dirty and unhealthy pale. Some sat cuddling with their elder sibling while some were sobbing secretly as if afraid to draw attention.

Pel for some reason felt his heart cut, yeah they were definitely not the same species but Pel had never witnessed this kind of situation before, not on any of the planets he had been to...or was it that he had always been to the good sides?

He has always had his family and on Nodard poverty was alleviated to the extent that even an orphan wouldn't worry about suffering. There is corruption yes but not one that they would neglect those with abilities.

"This is bad, why would they let something like this go on?" Pel said with clenched fists.

Ito looked at his status and smiled the synchronization rate will increase the more he was like this.

Pel walked closer to where most of the kids were sitting and seeing him approach they stood up while some scurried away. He was conflicted, should he perhaps take off the suit?

[Host should remember that I'm still here]

'Well I wouldn't hesitate if you weren't more useless than useful these days'

Ito rolled his eyes.

Seeing the other fail to respond, Pel sighed and snapped his finger. Crista also did the same and then gave the suit to Pel who then kept it in the system space.

"We're new here, can anyone tell us what is going on?"

Some of the kids stared at each other while a little girl popped out her head from her brother's side. Well, Pel assumed that he was her brother.

"People from outside?" she muttered.

And the boy standing in from of her covered her mouth. "Mom said not to speak with strangers, let's go" dragging her frail figure he proceeded to leave but Pel utilized his spread and stood and their front, blocking their way.

"I don't want to hurt you"

"See Ken, he can speak well, so I'm sure he's not a number 3" the little girl said again.

"Number 3?" Pel asked with a confused expression.

"Stop talking Lisa" Ken glared and turned to Pel. "Please let us go"

"But he might be able to save mom"

"Enough!!" dark color sipped into his sclera and not just Pel, the little girl saw it as well and her eyes turned teary in an instant.

"You..."

Ken immediately shook his head and took several deep breaths. The look in his sister's eyes made his heart bleed. "I'm fine okay, don't worry I can still protect you"

"You're lying" the little girl said. "That was what Dad said before he...almost became a number 3" she continued in between sobs.

Ken turned to Pel with pleading eyes. "Please let us go"

After the scene that had just unfolded Pel was even more curious and so he wanted to know what was going on in this hell of a town and what the girl meant by Number 3.

Pel thought for a bit before bringing out some provisions from his system space.

Looking at the food, Ken became even more weary of Pel. "We're not beggars thank you" but just then, Lisa's belly growled and so he lifted her and started walking away before she would make him stay longer.

Crista walked to Pel and saw him staring in the direction they had gone. "Are you just gonna let them leave?"

"Oh no, Ito already has their life signs registered" Pel smiled. "Here" he threw Crista a spatial ring who was confused about what to do with it.

"Feed the kids if they are hungry...it's time for me to reintroduce myself" when he said that he started followings the direction the two siblings had left.

Crista stared at the ring and smiled but then she remembered something. "What if I can't find you?!" she yelled.

"I will always find you!"
