Marc - II

Genevieve gave me a loyal nod. "Blessed every step and all the paths you choose, Alpha Marc," she said half in a whisper.

In the name of the Moon Goddess, I will express my feelings for Genevieve if we all survive the war. Suppose she came back with a smile. Yes, we are. I planned to break into the battlefield in disguise, as I had before.

Unfortunately, Luis and Sebastian stopped me. They pretended to allow me to participate in the war, then threw me into a prison in the underground construction shortly after the gate closed when my father, mother, and Genevieve left the palace.

My father and mother died in the war. I don't know how long I was confined in a cell. No one came to say the progress of the war. Even a guard assigned to accompany me never once opened his voice when I asked. Until I don't know on what day Sebastian came just to deliver the sad news.

Sebastian really can't be worked with. He left after delivering the sad news. That's all Sebastian did. Unlike Luis. he came to ascertain my condition. Even carefully, he said that Genevieve also died in the war. It's not just my mother and father.

We jointly descended on the battlefield against the ferocity of the barbarians and hunters. Half of our land they have mastered. Some of our soldiers began to flinch from resisting all the brutality they showed. They killed the women as well as the little ones before our eyes. That was the only reason we kept fighting even though we were far behind them.

Unfortunately, when I was about to reach the leader of the barbarians, a hunter almost swung his sword into my hand. His black sword swung so hard that it slammed the blade in my grasp. If only I hadn't shied away at that time. Maybe I only had one hand at this time.

I was about to fight back with another sword lying not far from where I was standing. Unfortunately, when I raised my head, the sword's eyes fell on me, around my neck and head. Nothing I could do but shut up and wait for an opportunity. However, my body trembled instantly. Through the tail of my eyes, I watched As Sebastian fell with his head separated from his body. Also, Luis, my uncle, the director, was thrust with a blade ready to be swiped against the surface of his neck. Luis's eyes trembled. He looked at me with his wet eyes.

Did I lose? What if I obeyed my father's orders? All these bad things I witnessed would never happen. It's all too late. I didn't think about the risks I would receive so far. It's useless to think of all the possibilities I should have thought of at the time.

I was immersed in all sorts of feelings raging inside me, to the point of not knowing that a huge flash of light was hitting our heads. Until when everyone dropped the sword while my eyes closed, I just ventured to sweep my eyes around, finding someone in a black robe painting us while casting a spell. Then I looked up —watching the light above our heads round and wrapping us up one by one until all visible next was a blinding light chamber and a voice echoing in the head.

The voice warned that it was a punishment—a curse I—we all got. The war is not over yet. The only one who can break the curse is only a summoner. And, when a summoner successfully breaks the curse, the war will continue, and it will be completely over if I have the determination to end it.

From then on, I constantly imagined Genevieve's presence and wondered about everything with her. If she were still around, maybe she was the only summoner who would break the curse and help me round up the determination to continue and end the war.

Until one time, I heard my mother's voice. Her voice echoed heartbreaking whenever I wished anyone could break the curse. It is said that the war will not end until any time, for what we will face is not only the barbarians, but something more terrible has been waiting for me if it does happen. A terrible war will loom, and the great chaos I will not be able to conquer.

After hearing mom's voice and all sorts of warnings she's told, I hope no one can break this curse. I guess this is much better. The Kingdom of Xaera has never been lost to anyone else. The werewolves like us will be the most powerful.

Now I think this curse is a saviour for me, my kingdom, and my people. Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of my people. I'm sure my people are reimagining the lives of those destroyed by war. The children can go back to play freely, running around laughing. The women can smile when they can enjoy all the beauty surrounding Alras without feeling afraid. I hope, at this time, Alras is back at peace.

I still remember the little ones crying, the women hiding with their trembling bodies watching the chaos caused by the war. I don't want that to happen again. I want all my people to return to live in peace, even though I am confined to this curse.

However, once I heard another voice for the first time. The sound felt so real. Even occasionally, I felt like I was watching the form of a girl lying on my lap. The girl often told me about the days she lived, and I always listened to her. Even though I don't know who she is, even if she knows she is just an illusion or real, I am quite happy about it.

Unfortunately, all that fun couldn't last long. I heard the woman's voice calling my name. Freed, my curse. It is set me free.

Instead of feeling happy, I was scared. I am afraid that I will break this curse. I'm worried the war will happen again, as my mother said. I'm so scared my people will return to life surrounded by fear if it all happens. I desperately asked that the voice stop calling my name. I swear I don't want to be freed. I don't want this curse to be broken.

Because of this, the light space I was in was shaking for the first time, as if pulling me quickly, leading me to something that looked so unfamiliar when I saw the ray's space that wrapped me disappear for the first time. The tall buildings, the strangely shaped constructions, the people who looked at me suspiciously, the strange flat objects they pointed at me, and the language that sounded very foreign to my hearing made me wonder. Am I thrown into another land? Another dimension? However, I don't feel that the ground I am currently stepping on is a foreign land. It felt like the land I stepped on when I almost lost the war.

Then, I watched three young men turn into light brown furry wolves. They said something in a language I could hardly understand. And also they didn't understand everything I said. I spontaneously transformed my human body into a wolf form.

Until another wolf came, we confronted each other, meeting as we returned to our human bodies. I know the man I'm dealing with is an alpha who holds this territory. Unfortunately, when I asked, he didn't give me any answer. He didn't understand what I was saying, just like the last three wolves.

Before long, a blonde girl appeared from behind the man's back. The girl looked at me with her head up. Then she voiced a sentence in a language I didn't understand at all, and when I heard her make a sound, I knew that she was the one calling out my name. She was the one who broke my curse.

Spontaneously I got angry. I subconsciously lifted the girl's body in front of me, strangling her neck until her face was pale from almost out of breath. I demanded an answer even though I was sure he didn't understand what I was saying. I urged him with all sorts of curiosity.

Instead of thanking her. I subconsciously lifted the girl's body in front of me, strangling her neck until her face was pale from almost out of breath. I urged her with all sorts of curiosity. I demanded an answer even though I was sure she didn't understand what I was saying.

To great surprise, the girl replied in the same language I used. With a gasp, she asked about the intent of my remarks. However, when I was about to explain, someone hit me from behind, and next, I felt only a pain in my head, and instantly everything went dark.
