Marc's smile graced as he continuously felt the breeze gently caressing his skin. He knew it was Genevieve; he could feel her presence and must not be able to see her form.

"Gen?" Marc called her slowly and softly, making his baritone voice husky and deep.

"Mavens?" he called again; this time, his bluish-green eyes sparkled. "You're here?"

Genevieve gently stroked Marc's right cheek, causing the alpha to tilt his head against Genevieve's palm, which was covering the right side of his face.

"It turned out you were protecting me from the barbarians and hunters," Marc muttered.

Genevieve only answered him with a nod and a smile. Because it was useless, even if Genevieve answered, Marc couldn't hear her voice without Thea's help.

"Mavens?" Marc called her hesitantly, like he wanted to say something important.
