A World Outgrown (Part 3)

Rowan was sitting in the open zone with his hands spread apart and a storm point in each hand. He squeezed and the platinum light from his mana caused a bright flash before a cloudburst from either and then immediately smashed into each other and released a bolt of lighting thicker than Rowan's torso that evaporated three of the remaining zombie kings. Rowan followed up with a series of fist strikes that thudded into the nearest zombie king and left him a pile of mush on the ground while he directly used his storm mana to fashion it into a blade that he used to dismember the remaining zombie kings with little to no effort, he had never even broken a sweat.

It was right at this time when the sound of clapping echoed across the clearing. A single person that looked vastly different from the typical zombie could be seen walking forward. His skin was gray like ash while his eyes stood out as vibrant blood red. He had short black hair that looked like some type of gel had been used to slick his hair back and prepare him for what was to come. His limbs all looked slightly longer than they were supposed to be, which stood out at first glance, but the thing that Rowan noticed the most was that truthfully, the man was remarkably unremarkable in every single way.

"You know it's hard for my kind to thrive, we realized that you humans are simply blessed by the heavens when it comes down to it, you are given everything and that system of yours just makes it even easier while we have to deal with much more. My zombie race can't even gain intelligence without copious training, something we forsake every time we come to one of your insignificant worlds, and all of it culminates in a single expert. We have to watch countless of our brethren be sacrificed all so that one of us can awaken the intelligence necessary to bring the rest of us to the front lines where the real battles between our two kinds are taking place."

Rowan was learning a lot from the talkative zombie, his master had told him very little about the citation stating that it was something he had to work out on his own but this allowed him to connect the dots with the information that Feng had told him. "So just to confirm you all send yourselves to these different worlds to find human hosts, all because of bloodlines?" The zombie nodded in excitement at finally having someone to talk to. "Its simple, really a hive queen will fly by a planet and blast the entire planet with me and my brethren, the natural evolution of those shitty insectoids is my parasite kind but some parts still require the old ways like the birth of more of my siblings. We lock our intelligence and ancestral memories behind limiters so that it does not cause a clash between us and our host before we can become a full-fledged zombie at rank five and fully assimilate their soul into our strength. Then we embark on a journey to join our brethren in ruling this pitiful patch of stars."

Rowan nodded his head, "Ya know when the apocalypse first happened I really struggled to understand how we got zombies, because zombies really make no sense, but you have clarified two things for me and for that I'll thank you." The zombie cocked his head to the side. "Oh, what two things then?" Rowan held his hand out and a fiery red longsword settled into it. "The first thing was how your kind works, for the life of me it was confusing, like why the base of the neck and why the fact that just now one of you is talking for the first time, I was really struggling with that but it being related to cultivation totally clears that up." At this point a second longsword had appeared in Rowan's hands. This one had the same feather etching on the blade as the other but the feathers were white with a single black jagged band that looked like a tiger stripe.

"Second, and this is the really important part, you confirmed for me that you parasites really are nothing more than pathetic disgraces incapable of being worth shit without a human host, I'll be sure to travel through the stars and kill you dirty bugs right at the source." The gray skin on the zombie seemed to turn pink and then red as his hanger boiled over and he roared in Rowan's direction and pounced.

"Stupid human, you are nothing more than incubators and food for my kind. Be obedient to your new overlord and your death will be swift." Rowan only shook his head without answering him the time for conversation was past at this point but much to Rowans growing disappointment the enemy in front of him was just as disappointing as the horde from previously and it was something that made him truly realize that despite the changes and everything that had happened he had fully outgrown his own home planet. There was no longer even enough mana on this world to support him breaking into rank six here. Rowan could only shake his head, but to the others in the building, they thought something much different was going on.

They had seen Rowan talking to the zombie before he had pulled his swords out but the mayors of the other cities had at that point taken the time to finally catch their breaths after the first display and ridicule Rowan for as they put it being scared of the zombie leader. There had even been a discussion of a strike force heading down to finish what Rowan had started, since clearly the upcoming fight would be too much for them. What happened next would suffice to silence them from this point forward. The zombie jumped into the air and massive amounts of mana boomed to life from its body as it swooped down at Rowan with his ghastly claws held forward, reaching for Rowan to tear him limb from limb. Rowan at this point had shaken his head while under the effects of hyper vision the entire process continued in what could only be described as slow motion.

Rowan's swords had storm points passed around them before their edges were coated platinum before the blades began to hum. Rowan slightly leaned forward and the sword stroke that came from his right hand was like the judgment of god. [Bolt Chop] Platinum lightning arced off the white and black blade and the whole blade struck like a bolt of divine lighting from the sky as the blade dragged itself downward and shattered space along the line it traveled. Rowan didn't even bother looking at the zombie's name when it spoke out menacingly from the two halves. "Silly fool, now that I am complete, my previous body has been fully assimilated into this form. Now my body is undying and will develop unique abilities like you humans and your mana body technique."

Rowan looked at the zombie like it was the dumbest person he had ever met. "Did you really not even think long enough about this to remember that I simply have a second blade?" The red longsword the phoenix divine blade stabbed forward while the friction it caused with the weaker space here directly caused sparks as the blade slid across space itself directly causing space to ignite a flame to shoot from both sides of the blade. [Vacuum stab] Platinum wind birthed tornados that surrounded his blade as it stabbed forward and directly into the zombie's heart. The tornado's points connected before a hole was directly torn in space and a vacuum was created in the center of the being's chest, causing most of his body to instantly be sucked into it and shredded to pieces. There was a look of pure fear on his face in his final moments not daring to think that if he had waited another couple of days, he would have awakened his ancestral memories a little further and gained access to laws as he felt Rowans own comprehension of various laws blast his body to pieces and obliterate his soul in the process.

Rowan, on the other hand, flicked his wrist and both blades vanished from his hands and back to his mana center with the other two. Astra resided in the mana space, and a soul weapon resided in the soul. Rowan noticed that the notifications for a completed quest had moved itself to the top left corner and now represented itself as a blue question mark in the corner of his vision. It left him pondering what was next at this point, the majority of the zombies on the planet had been abolished today and the stragglers posed no threat to the people he would be leaving behind his next piece of business before going to the location of the station on this planet would be to find Akari and force him to go with him.
