New Revolution

Walking through the lively streets of the ogre city, Aurora, who was now under a gang ogre disguise using cold illusions, made her way to the west district of the city.

Upon arriving in the western district, she found an isolated alleyway and quickly entered it. The alleyway was small to the point where it would be difficult for two ogres to walk side by side. It was also hidden from sight, just the way she wanted it to be.

'Now let's finish the fourth one…" She clasped her hands together.

Pulling her hands apart, a snow ball of condensed ice and air could be seen in her hands as she threw them in the direction of the center of the western district as sadness filled her eyes.

Snapping her fingers...

Bang, bang, bang...!!!!

Four explosions rang out from the center of the four districts of the city. What emerged was four giant glacial whirlwinds—they rampaged without care as spears of ice rained down upon the ogres.

Krrrrrrrrrr!

Those who were hit by the ice spears roared in pain. Unfortunately, their end wouldn't be as pleasant as those who died immediately upon getting hit.

From where they were hit, ice began to spread all over the rest of their bodies, turning them into ice sculptures. Of course, it was a painful process, causing many to faint from the pain.

As for those who couldn't even do that, they were forced to suffer until their end, which only lasted a few seconds, but to them it felt like an eternity. Followed by their deaths, their bodies shattered into a multitude of pieces.

"There's an attack! We're being attacked! For those who can still fight! Gear up! We have a whirlwind to destroy!" An ogre lord shouts in a commanding voice.

Only a few followed the ogre lord's commands; the rest were... panicking.

By now, thousands have died, and the majority of those that survived were panicking—they feared death. Thus, turning the situation into a chaotic one, where they'd flee for their own lives. Those who fled trampled over those who were too slow, further increasing their fatalities.

This was the natural instinct of all living things. When in danger with your life being threatened, the best course of action would be to naturally escape. There were objections, yes, but those objections only applied to the ones that were trained to not flee in the face of death.

As the majority of the population of the ogre city were normal citizens, it meant that they had no formal training in combat, nor were they trained to not flee in the face of death. As a result, it was making the situation worse.

'The longer this keeps up, the quicker the casualties will pile up. I need to do something to encourage them to fight back instead of fleeing out of fear.' The ogre lord contemplated as he saw the chaos happening before his eyes.

He racked his brain, pushing it to the limit in order to think of a solution. A beautiful voice was projected into his mind, interrupting his thought process.

'These are the orders of our queen. If anyone dares to flee for fear or any other reason, they'll automatically be considered a traitor to this region and will be executed on the spot. You now have two choices: you either die fighting or you die via execution.' Rin said, her voice revealing dominance.

"Why would the queen say such a thing? We've supported her for years!"

"Yeah!"

They all began to come to their own consensus, thinking this was blasphemy and that Rin was doing this on her own volition.

"I thought Lady Rin was humble and kind. Now I know the truth; she's cunning and cruel. She's trying to deceive us into being her cannon fodder!"

"Yeah, Rin must be. There's no other possible explanation!"

They all agreed to this, as to them at this point of time, their fear of death, along with their confusion, had made them unable to think rationally as their desire had taken over, which was to survive, do anything to survive (kill, trample others, etc). As long as it allowed them to achieve this desire, they would do anything.

"Since Lady Rin decided to use us as cannon fodder, we'll have to kill you. This is for your own good as well as for this region. As long as we kill you here today, we'll survive!"

The crazy ogres charged forward, picking up broken shards of metal or anything that could be used as a weapon lying around. Their eyes were filled with fear and a desire to survive.

"Such pitiful souls. You are blinded by fear. Only if you were trained to face fear, then you'd not have to die by my hands." Rin said, her tone filled with sadness. "At least I can do... is to give you a quick death."

Flaming Arrow!

Thousands of flaming arrows formed in the sky and rained down upon the ogres, slaying them as swiftly as possible, with each arrow aiming for fatal areas.

Soon, only one remained, the one who initiated it to begin with. At the brink of death, he had regained his rationality.

"I'm so... sorry... Lad-y R-in-n!" As he said his last words, a tear dropped down his cheek. His life then ended.

"No... I should be the one apologizing, little b-brother!" Rin said, wiping the tears from her eyes.

Standing up, a new revolution occurred inside Rin. It was a burning sensation, hotter than fire. It was vengeance. Vengeance for her race, for her little brother. She wanted to kill the one who did this, the one who brought fear down to this peaceful city, the one who forced her to kill those she cherished.

"I'll not only kill you! But I'll make sure you die in the most gruesome way possible!" Rin's anger peaked began to fuel her strength. Her aura gradually began to increase, becoming a deep red with a tint of black.
