Tang Wan Was Practically Harmless

Yan Shu nodded. "You're right." Then, he looked at her with a sort of gratified expression. "Zi Mei, you've done a lot for me in these past few years. If not for you, it would have been hard for me. I don't regret marrying you."

If it were any other woman, she would be pleased by such words coming from his mouth. But Zi Mei was different. She was very aware of her own stand and wouldn't fall for his sweet words.

Otherwise, how would she have endured marrying Yan Shu who was such a deceitful man.

But because she also needed support and she wanted to be treated as a rich madam, she endured her disgust for the man and gave birth to a son for him so she could maintain a firm foothold in his house.

She also didn't care whether someone's family was ruined because of hers. So, she didn't care about Tang Wan's misfortune. As long as the riches belonged to her family, all that was left was making sure no one took it away from her son.

But, she was rather worried about her son, Yan Jing. The boy was very passionate about his cousin and cared a lot about Tang Wan.

Although, she had managed to fool him into believing that Tang Wan had willingly let them take over the company, she was sure he would kick a huge fuss if he found out what they had done.

She could feel a headache on its way at the thought of it.

But regardless, she threw everything to the back of her mind and smiled at Yan Shu, not replying to his sugar-coated words.

Then, she asked, coming to the main point of her worry. "But Ol' Shu, have you found Lawyer Zhang?"

Yan Shu shook his head negatively. He was very regretful.

Lawyer Zhang was Father Tang's legal advisor. Yan Shu was confident that he would know where all those shares went and how to acquire them.

If only he detected earlier that Father Tang had kept some hidden shares tucked away, he would have been prepared and made sure Lawyer Zhang didn't escape his surveillance.

He hadn't expected Father Tang to be so cunning.

By the time he detected something was amiss, Lawyer Zhang had escaped.

He didn't sit still though. He sent several forced to look for him but it was all futile. Every investigation reached a dead end.

However Yan Shu was not worried. Tang Wan was not mentally alright so he wasn't worried that she would try to take back the position.

After all, no matter how much she was favored by everyone, no one would want a mad woman to lead them. Moreover even if he tried to, she only had 5% of the shares in her possession. So, she was practically harmless.

He also didn't think Feng Jun was a threat. After all, they were partners in crime. Yan Shu could reveal their secret anytime and destroy his reputation. Moreover, Feng Jun was in control of the Feng Corporation. He already had enough on his plate.

So, Yan Shu's worries was temporarily set at rest. He would take his time finding the shares. But till then, he was in charge of Tang Corps and not even Tang Wan could snatch it away from him.

He smiled, obviously relieved and sat back on the sofa. Then, he looked at Zi Mei. "Put your mind at rest. I'll definitely solve the issue of the shares."

Zi Mei's smile stiffened at his words. She pinched her hand with force but didn't contradict him. She also didn't dare to persuade him to give her son some shares anymore.

But, she wasn't really worried. There was enough time in the world to mention that. She just had to find the right time before those little bastards he gave birth to outside began to clamor for identity.

Yan Shu knew Zi Mei was aware that he had mistresses outside. Some of them even birthed children for him. But, she didn't mention it and she still cared for him at home. So, he respected that and didn't let any of those mistresses near his main home.

After all, he wasn't stupid. He knew not to bring trouble to himself. Moreover, he was very satisfied with the child she gave him. Although Yan Jing was only 17, he was a very promising child.

Zi Mei took a seat beside him and lightly grabbed his hands, massaging his wrists to get his attention. She looked at him with a smile and she looked very virtuous and patient.

"I won some tea from Madam Wang earlier today while we played Mahjong. She said it was imported from France. I'll make you some so you can relax."

"Okay," Yan Shu replied, obviously happy with her words. This was one of the reasons he didn't destroy his relationship with her. She was also good at building relationships for him.

Zi Mei snorted inwardly but smiled as though she was not complaining about how such a good tea would be wasted on someone like him.

Anyway, as long as she was being understanding like this, she would secure a firm foothold of her son's future. She cared the most for her son and she could do anything for him as long as it gives him a bright future ahead. Regardless of what it was.

She got up to make him tea for him. But, as she got up to leave, he suddenly asked, "Isn't Ah Jing on the way home today? When will his plane arrive?"

"Ten thirty."

He massaged his brows. "You can go make the tea. It's almost ten thirty. I'll send one of the drivers to pick him up."

"Okay. Thank you, hubby."

"Hm."

He waved her off and she scoffed softly, feeling disgusted by her own coquettish words.
