The time had arrived for Ian to get a new assistant. With all the ideas and projects going on in his mind, he no longer wanted to rely on each and every possible idea with Mason. Although, Mason would still be a huge help in things associated with new movies, producing, etc. Ian was feeling quite happy about having a new assistant.
In general, directors in all types of business typically have a conscientious right-hand person to help them achieve goals and be successful. A director's assistant plays a key role in the smooth operation of an office, department or agency. In addition to being reliable and dependable, the director's assistant must possess certain essential qualities like high energy, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
"When can we interview them, uncle?" Ian asked while trying to get the date on his schedule and see if the time is available.
"Tomorrow if possible, it would be much better if it's a male assistant. I don't want you to fool around with someone like that but focus on the projects," Mason said with a smirk while Ian rolled his eyes.
[...] According to the files and his previous job details, the guy was recommended by directors which was a plus on Ian's side. The main reason why he was looking for a new job was because he came back to the US from Canada because of his mother's health becoming worse. But, the moment Ian read every detail, he felt as if the guy would suit the role perfectly.
The recommendations from the previous director, someone who was famous around Canada, included his energy, enthusiasm, impeccable organizational skills, and his eye for details.
"So you were in the US before you moved to Canada, at the invitation of the famous Martin Oliver, and you're back here now?" Ian asked.
"Yes, sir. That's right." Murphy replied.
Just like that, Ian's new assistant was Murphy Anderson. A young man around 25-years-old. He looked fairly good, with a fully shaved face and short blonde hair. His gray eyes gave even more confidence to his appearance and the way Murphy presented himself in the interview, any director or interviewer would give him to the job considering how professional he looked.

The very next day Ian called for an important meeting with almost everyone that it would be necessary to talk to about Green Book. People including the crew manager, PR department head, technical department head, and seven more main members had to join the meeting.
"Hey, Ian," The marketing director came inside with a smile.
"Is everyone here?" Ian asked Murphy.
"All but Johannsson, the assistant head of the technical unit." He said.
"It's fine, we have the main people, let's start," Ian said and took in a huge breath. "Hello everyone, good morning. This will be a bit of a long meeting because I'm here to discuss some important things that might be really useful in the near future. So take in all the important points so that no one would miss anything. Okay?" Ian said while everyone nodded.
"So, La La Land grossed a total net worth of $270 million as of today. According to the current data, Home Alone grossed $550 million, both internationally and locally. I think it's the time to share my newest plans," Ian said and smiled.
"Ay!" Tristan, the PR manager said and clapped which everyone followed. After a few seconds of smiles, all of the eyes were still focused on Ian.
"Thank you, the win belongs to all of us. So, the title of my next movie is Green Book, which I don't plan to direct but just produce. The script will be mine, which I already completed, I just want to find a good director to work on the project,"
As Green Book was a good movie in his real world with a lot of positive and inspiring feedback, he didn't want just any director to handle the project, but preferably a well experienced one and if at all possible one of the best directors to make it.
"Hmm… Ian, we can contact A-rated directors, but almost all of them are very picky and the majority of them have their own production house. It will be really hard to find one," Mason said.
"Yeah, he's right," Another person confirmed it, leaving Ian to think for himself. All the pairs of eyes, in different colors were turned to Ian and he couldn't specify what color belonged to whom. That was how lost in thoughts he was.
"Yeah I did think of that, yet we still need to find a good one, because I can't let just another director direct the movie, the script has its own worth, if the movie is poorly taken, my attempt would be in gutter," Ian said while shaking his head disagreeing with everyone.
Mason started thinking of something and it was visible in his eyes. Ian was waiting for Mason to say who he was thinking of.
"When can we see the script?" Mandela Rochelle asked. She was the head of the art department.
"As soon as we find a director, I will talk about the whole story and project soon enough, and what is it, uncle? What are you thinking?" Ian asked while looking directly into his eyes.
"Hm… Let's check the rankings of the latest celebs. We might be able to get a grasp on the people's point of view of our studio. Because I think, based on these analytics some A-grade directors might be interested," Mason said and connected the screen to the projector.
After logging in and searching, they saw that Ian was ranked as a B in Hollywood. The description included how successful Ian's initial two movies were and how he was the fastest to climb there from the bottom. All of the meeting attendees had smiles on their faces.
"Okay, Let's check our latest cast, Ryan and Eloise…" The screen displayed they were A-grade actors. "They both are graded A just from La La Land. Eloise was there before, but Ryan was C-graded before," Mason continued while still analyzing the data.
They started searching for the statistics of the other actors and actresses who worked with them. Which also included the cast from Home Alone. It showed that Adam, who had acted as Kevin in Home Alone was now B-graded. The Red-head D-grade actress, Alexa Carla was now C-graded. It looked like all of their rankings increased after working with Renner Studios.
"All of theirs have increased," Mason said as a matter of fact.
"Yeah, but this list just means where you are currently. This can always change. To establish the ranking, it will take more time and they will need to act in better movies. Like, look at Ryan, if he doesn't act in any more hits, he wouldn't be there for long. Eloise's establishment is different, she'll be there for some more time. But, anyways, they will just need a bit more time. What were you going to say, Uncle?" Ian asked again.
"Yeah, I mean, like this, I think there will be hope for us to find an A-grade director who might accept our idea," Mason said.
"So, are there any other movies or scripts you are planning for besides Green Book?" Stage manager Chonky asked. Chonky wasn't his real name, it was Cheneck Washington. But his nickname was Chonky ever since he started working in Renner Studio.
"Okay, I think it is time to say my plans aloud. Take notes, save your questions for later. As we all know, we made a deal with LeoTV about Lucifer which will be distributed through LeoTV, but directed by me. It is the series of the devil, remember? The cast, crew, set and almost everything, they said they will provide, and I will have to direct two to three episodes at first. Then, I can either find someone else to direct it, or they will put their hands inside the project," Ian said.
He continued, "Then Green Book, the main reason for this one is because of the racism scandal which went on a few days ago. The conclusion of the plot is wonderful and has a lot of potential to go to high places. Which is also why I'm worried, but I'm sure we will find a good director," Ian completed.
"Why won't you direct it?" Someone asked which took Ian's attention.
"Let me finish, questions for the end. There will be three more movies that will go along with Green Book. For the next one, I'll be taking Ryan Gosling to join the project. Who knows, maybe his ranking will be solidified after this one. Anyway, It will be a romantic-comedy. I have yet to start writing the script," Ian turned his attention to Mason. "Before thinking about that one, I'll need to complete the script of my next directorial first,"
"What is it?"
"Hm… For that, we will need to buy the film rights from DC comics," Listening to this, all of the eyes were curious about what Ian's plan might be.
