Spell undone

Dhvani quickly realized the first level of sky magic. She could contact with her soul power. Soul power is the intrinsic power every living thing has. But invoking it is what sets normal humans and magic users apart. Most magic users do not summon soul power but they only use magic aura. Soul power is something that gives magic aura energy to perform the will of the user.

This is the inherent ability of a user. The more control he has over the magical aura, the more easily he can communicate with the soul power. That's why a direct link with soul power is better. As it indirectly gives you control over magical elements. But this practice had been abandoned with the disappearance of gods.

Dhvani kept practicing and she found her soul also became strong. She could easily control things around her with her mind. The things around her were lightweight but heavy-weight objects should be a different story.

Tired from her practice, she browsed her communicator.

Some notifications floated before her on a transparent blue screen. The screen itself had no existence but she could easily manipulate it.

[Sarang-gourmet accepted Wish Group's request]

[Wish Group is now live]

[Custom programming- yes/ no]

Dhvani clicked yes and just imagined the system taking wishes as input, storing them, and transferring it to her boss so he could grant them. Wishes were also programmed to be transferred, and divided within levels so each user can level up and increase their privileges.

She programmed it with many rewards and also added many features like mini-games, spin-the-wheel options, and most importantly, the lucky user of the day.

She didn't know if her boss would accept it but he would have to consider it when all the systems participated in it. They can force him to accept. He can not stop them from receiving employee benefits.

So the preliminary group was set. Sari and Sarang were the admins along with her. She could divide the work this way. She set up a welcome gift package that gave a gift card and a wish.

Dhvani collected her wish. She had mainly designed this to exchange resources. Because the gifts were dropped randomly and there was no exchange system. She needed some kind of currency in the systems server. Maybe this wish could become one. Even if it didn't, they can exchange wishes with items.

Three hundred wishes could be exchanged with one system wish and this system wish would be stored in a pool or queue. This queue will be messaged to their boss and he could choose one from the queue. Other rules were to be made up as they go forward.

Dhvani wasn't an expert in these kinds of tasks. But she noticed that the server was sometimes very lonely. Because the members lived in different worlds and they had their tasks to perform, they weren't as flexible in timings as Dhvani.

She assumed that all the members would be online only when there was a blue moon in all their worlds at once. The chances and odds were very slim but she still wanted to meet all of them.

She collected a wish from her daily log-in and shut down the communicator.

Her host was struggling to maintain the clown spell. He was the same as always, attempting to perform the spell but this time, it was in the presence of Ashrit.

"Maybe, you aren't trying to control the density of magical elements in the aura. Try that."

Ajay nodded and this time he controlled the number of magical elements rushing toward him but the magical elements always went out of their way to trouble him.

Ajay was tired and Ashrit looked very worried seeing Ajay was tired.

"My sister is good at controlling magical elements. Would you like to ask her? I can ask her and tell you what she says. Is this okay?"

Ajay nodded. Sometimes getting help is all you have to do. But the first step is very hard to take. Ajay didn't want to ask but he had no choice. There wasn't anyone who can teach him. The magical institute had people who were only responsible for motivating them and they had no exploits to speak of in this area.

The research part of the magic institute was banned. Because it was easy to get sidetracked but he didn't want those people to start researching again. The fiasco of energy stone was fresh on their minds. But he didn't want any hibernating researchers to wake up because of his idea of spells.

He was already very tired from trying. There was nothing wrong with asking for help.

Ashrit left Ajay to his inner thoughts.

Ajay practiced his spells many times trying to figure out how they worked. Because he was a sky magic user, he had to control the energy part of the elements while the other users controlled the magical elements. This was the only drawback of his practice. Sky users were very rare because many people weren't able to detect this magic in the first place.

He first used the cleaning spell. His class at the system mall was very helpful now.

["Host, maybe if you keep everything simple, it will be done."]

Dhvani suggested.

"What do you mean?"

["You are trying to merge spells but you aren't concentrating on the nature of the spell itself."]

"You can try to elaborate on this."

["The appearance-changing spell needs time constraints so you can use air magic to blow away all the elements once the time limit is reached. And you can place other elements like earth and water in a cover of sky magic so they could merge on their own."]

"That would work. Wait a second."

Dhvani knew the basics but she did not know exactly how to add all kinds of magic. To create a design, like pixels in an image, all the minute parts are to be determined. Magic was also the same. The more micro-tuned the magical spell was, the more accurate it was.

Ajay concentrated on his spell and he finally made a better version. He could control the time limit of his clown spell within minutes. But even then, he had to make a reverse spell. If he wanted to undo it before the limit, he had to make one. If he made a spell that could take effect immediately both for activation and deactivation, his task would be done.

Dhvani looked at him practicing repeatedly for many days and she was feeling bad for her host. Each spell took him an hour to activate and a half hour to deactivate. And then he would study again which would take him all day. She knew that only hard work reaped benefits but this would affect his psychological balance.

One fine morning, he performed a spell half sleepy and when he finally woke himself up, he realized he could control the spell. Dhvani was also sleeping at the same time. His screaming woke her up.

"System Status," he bellowed and the loud voice rang through her home.

["Online."]

She screamed at him but he didn't find it.

"I controlled the spell in my sleep. I did it."

He did it because the notification was already issued. She just had to announce it. But she wanted to see the result before announcing it. She was a very conscientious system that followed the rules.

He quickly performed the spell.

"Now I activated it, right? The problem before was that i couldn't deactivate it. But you see now."

He performed a waving motion and his appearance changed from an unkempt clown to an equally unkempt Ajay in the mirror.

Dhvani kept her promise.

[System Task complete]

[Reward: 1 breath-holding pill]

[To transfer or store for further use]

He clicked the further use option and bounded up the stairs to sleep again.

Yes, this spell-making business made him lose sleep. So he wanted to sleep to his heart's content.

Ashrit was also shocked to see the spell working before he brought the answer. He immediately clamored that he wanted to learn. But Ajay refused him conveying that only after Ashrit masters the control over elements, will he be able to teach him. Ashrit pouted and Dhvani made digital art of it.

Tarsh came bounding in with Tvisha behind along with Tavish. Seeing that Ajay wasn't a clown, he seemed disappointed.

"I told them that you looked like a good clown," he whispered sullenly.

Ajay felt that he was more famous as a clown rather than his brother. But he bowed under the eaves and changed to a clown within a blink of an eye.

The kids exclaimed and turned around him, chirping many oohs and aahs. It was easy becoming a legend with kids but maintaining the status was hard. This fact was immediately proved.

"Become a mermaid, "Tvisha immediately recalled her favorite TV series and requested.

"I don't know if I can. How about I change for you when i see the mermaid show."

He made a very good effort to bargain. But where are kids so easy to forget?

She took a smartphone and then showed him the lock screen.

Ajay was dumbfounded. He couldn't possibly change his appearance like that, right? He can not conjure a tail out of anywhere. But seeing the expectant eyes of both of them, he had to try.

So he tried to make them happy in one try. HE speeled himself as both a robot and mermaid. Tarsh was a fan of a space robot so he turned his upper body appearance as the robot and the lower body into a fishtail. This was just an illusion so no one could see his real face.

The kids instantly cheered and clicked pictures with him. They fought over who gets to take the first picture which was won by the spirit emperor Tarsh. They had fun but they left a time bomb in their wake.

The pictures became viral, of course, the kids' faces were blurred but Ajay was not. Good thing, the robot head covered his face or he would have no face to meet others.

His cosplay made a new character merobot, a half-robot, and half mermaid. The animation show was also being launched.

He knew his sister had something to do with this but still, it was painful for him. The golden boys laughed at him very openly and Ashrit who was present in person narrated in great detail while he was in excruciating pain.

Even Dhvani felt that it was hilarious. So she made a wish card with his cosplay on the back as a joke. That wish card had funny functions. It could be sent to the family members of the system to make them feel happy. A widely used wish card came into being then.

Even Dhvani used it. And merobot quickly attracted many cosplayers because of the ingenuity of magic elements in costumes. It was hard to reproduce but it made a trend. Magic elements were more beautiful than real clothes so many clothing companies tried to make new cloth styles. Ajay became famous as the person who made this. Despite his unwillingness, his identity was revealed. The magical elements made the clothes look refined like they had a soul. It would make the wearer look out of the world. Obviously, it was preferred by celebrities.

The supernatural institute was also happy. They wanted money so they thought of this business with Ajay. His new friend Vinay was sent to negotiate.

"The institute wants to buy your idea and give you 40% shares."

"No more?"

"No. They wanted 70% but then they changed to another decision. They would consider 40% as your shares, 10% as your investment, and the remaining shares with the institute. They are very short of funds, you see. You have 50% to your name."

"Deal." Ajay happily agreed.

Before he could talk with Vina about other matters, he heard many familiar sounds in his head.

Dhvani felt that she would vomit blood from this turn of events.
