Although she had quite an intense dream, Alice didn't wake up startled. Instead, she slowly opened her eyes as if waking up from a comfortable dream. Her heart was beating fast and her breathing wasn't much stable, but she didn't feel the urge to overreact.
'What a strange dream... It's been a while since I don't have such dreams. They were always quite messy, but not to this extent.'
She looked at the white ceiling of her bedroom. It was bright and shiny, meaning that light was invading her room. It was morning, probably.
Alice extended her hand as if trying to touch that bright white ceiling, but, of course, she couldn't reach it. So, she stared at the back of her hand.
'It was so real, that now I am afraid of being in another dream.'
