Coffee (2)

The mug of coffee slipped from her trembling hands. It fell towards the table in slow-motion. Everything seemed to freeze as if to give her time to breathe and think about everything properly.

She felt something stabbing her heart. The type of stabbing that she felt when Ares left her all alone, with no real friends, no love, and no fun.

'It hurts', she thought, not knowing exactly how she could think so quickly. The time she usually would take to have that thought would be enough for the mug to reach the table. However, it was not even halfway to its final destination.

'It hurts so much, that I want to disappear. I don't want to deal with this anymore.'

Her eyes never left her father's. She couldn't dare to do it with him. The least he deserved was that much respect coming from her.
