A job well done

The next morning, Mar wakes up early to prepare food.

He looks at the sleeping Ren. She looks so peaceful. He doesn't want to leave her alone, but he needs to help with the fireplace project for the village.

He cooks some food for breakfast and also some food to leave for Ren. So she can eat whenever she feels hungry.

Ren wakes up hearing the noises in the kitchen.

She got up and wash her face.

She then went to the kitchen and saw Mar preparing the food.

She helps him put the food on the table so they can eat.

"I have prepared more food so you can eat whenever you feel hungry. It won't spoiled easily as the weather is cold."

"Thank you, dear. I know you will be busy again today, so I won't bother you."

"Yes, we need to finish the project today, so the females won't get sick anymore in the cold season."

She notices that Mar looks worried.

"Alright, no need to worry about me, I will be fine on my own."

"Are you sure you will be okay in here? Don't push yourself too hard okay? Remember that you are pregnant. I don't want to be far away from you as long as I can."

"Yes, I am sure. You worry too much. I told you, I will be fine. " She smiles at him, then kissed him on the cheek.

He feels relieved to hear it from her.

"Okay, love. I will come back as soon as we finish the project. I love you."

"I love you too."

Mar went to finish the project with the other men of the village, while Ren is at home sewing some baby clothes.

Mar met with Bon and the others who are already starting with their task.

"Good day Chief." Bon greeted him.

"Good morning everyone. You all are so hard working. I am sure we will be able to finish all of the hut today. " Mar replied.

Everyone raised their hands and shouted "yeah" happily.

Bon then talks to Mar. "Chief, your mate is really smart, isn't she? She thought about this fireplace."

Mar feeling proud, answered "yeah, she is smart. Even I get surprised most of the times with her ideas. This past day, she has these cravings called bread. She asked me to make it for her. I didn't know what it was, but she teaches me how to do it."

Bon is curious about it, so he asked. "What is it? And is it tasty? How do you do it, chief?"

Mar laughs, seeing how curious Bon is with the bread.

"A bread is made of flour. A flour is made of really fine grind beans or wheat. After it was ground, you need to sift it to make it a powder like, then add water and egg, then mixed."

"I see, so there are a lot of steps before you can make it into a bread."

"Yes, if you want, I can tell you the full details for you to able to make it at your home."

"Wow, really chief? I'd like that. Thank you."

"No problem. I am planning on telling it to our village meeting, to add to village staple food. I think it can help big time for us. The kids, the females and the older people in our village will surely like it."

"That is great. You and your mate really are the best, chief. You both think of good ways to help the village."

"Thank you, but it is mostly Ren who gives those ideas."

"Yes, but you are the one who teaches us so I think you both should take the credit." Bon smiles.

"Ha-ha, okay, okay. Let's finish this so we can all go home."

The sun comes down. It is the last hut of the village. Everyone is so happy that they have finished the last hut.

"Everyone, good job. With this, no one will be sick when the cold season comes. Tomorrow we can celebrate for the job well done."

Everyone shouts of happiness, and they all went home.
