Resign From Duty

Whenever I opened my eyes, I would find myself lying on the floor, unaware of what was happening. As I recall, I was fighting with a man who had an artefact, and after he had attacked, I was left wondering, "What's this?" I thought as I slowly regained my conciseness and sat straight from the floor.

I look around to see two people who seem to wear a uniform, perhaps a student. I then started remembering who I was. My skin was now bare when I started looking at myself. I covered myself with both of my hands and slowly began to realise who I was.

"K-KYAA, DON'T EVEN LOOK, IDIOT!"

"O-Okay, chill for a second,"

Angelo started to remove his uniform jacket and throw it at me. I thanked and put on the coat when I had something to cover myself. Putting on this jacket makes you feel like you are sitting around a campfire and the smell of mint inside. "Kind of feels warm..." I mumbled as I covered myself,

"OI perv, stop looking at her, your deviant!"

"I-I'm not looking alright!"

"…."

While Alicia contemplated how she changed, Francis approached them with his rifle attached to his back. Francis stared at both of her hands, wondering how she had changed.

"How in the world."

"The Guardian is now relief from her duty, or to be exact, she broke her contract with the artefact."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"This means she is now back to being a normal human. I've seen these cases before, but it hasn't happened often to the guardians." Francis said as he explained to Angelo,

"Wait, there are more guardians out there?"

"Yeah, three many out there that I haven't in contact with yet,"

"You know, brother, you've been keeping many secrets from me."

With a tone that came across as an old man, Angelo asked Francis, who stood there for a few seconds and then said, "Sorry, but this is the way it has to be."

Francis says they should return to their dorm because it's getting late. The three agree and slowly descend the clock tower. Because Alicia isn't a guardian, they will have to go down the stairs in the clock tower. While going down the stairs, Lena then spoke to Angelo about how he is now carrying Alicia on his back, happily napping; Lena ask,

"Hey, Ange,"

"Yeah, wait, nickname kind of nickname is that? It's like you have shortened it."

"Hehehe anyway, don't you think she kind of heavy for you?" Luna pointed out Alicia, who is now a size of an adult.

"I'm used to lifting heavy stuff back in my hometown where I help father in his bar shop."

"Hehe, I still remember that one time you broke 12 bottles of beer when you carried a crate." Francis, who was leading them down the stairs, said.

"Well, you can't blame the younger me,"

"Ah, so your both brothers," Lena asked the two brothers.

"Yeah, pretty much," the two corpus brothers said as they reminisced their childhood back in their hometown.

"A thing I have to share with you: thanks to you, the novel has become a hit."

"….Yeah, no problem, it workdays in done,"

"Oh yeah, I'll give you something when we return to the dorm."

"Okay?"

Angelo tilted his head, and Lena said how big of a hit her book, Love Equals Death, was. Since its release, Lena's Novel has enjoyed much popularity among younger audiences since it is the first novel to feature illustrations, something not familiar among books at Lena's level.

As they continue to move downstairs, a pale blonde girl who is now grown her size as an average human is being. Was napping behind Angelo's back, her mouth slightly open and murmuring something, one word comes to Alice's mouth, "M-Mother…."

The Two looked at each other and chuckled for a bit upon ascending down from the clock tower.

After arriving at the dorm, the four of them were met by a woman wearing sleeveless gowns outside the front door.

It was none other than Theresa, who was waiting outside the front door with her arms crossed. The lamp was on so that they could see her from a distance.

As we approached the dorm, Alicia woke up from her quick nap. And peak, Theresa saw this and said who this may be? Francis then shows in the picture and greets Theresa with enthusiasm in his voice,

"Hey, what's up, Teresa? No time no see?"

"Stop using that nickname; I don't even know you!"

"Ugh, come on, don't be like, I just came here to deliver these kids back to their home."

"…anyhow, who is this kind young lady over here?"

Theresa pointed out Alicia, who was peaking behind Angelo's back. Francis closes his eye several times, giving the signal to Theresa. The two of them step away from the ground, and Francis explains everything; after explaining what had happened, they return.

"So, do you mind explaining it to me? and why do you have a rifle mounted on your back?"

Theresa points out Francis is carrying n on his back, covered by white clothing. "It's a long story, but in short, I have encountered someone who is,"

As Theresa heard that, her eyebrows raised as if she knew what was going on. after a minute passed, they both returned,

"It's decided you can stay here for the meantime."

The two eye lights up in delight, "Good for you."

As Lena and Angelo said in unison to Alicia, who was barefoot and able to stand up, she squeezed onto Lena's right arm and said, "Thank you..." in the softest voice she could muster.

After we had entered the building, I sat on some chair, and I looked around at curious onlookers looking down at me,

"Hey! Why am I in a wheelchair?"

"Well, you can't walk, so you'll have to get used to this now."

"Urk…, so why are you all here?"

"We have all night girl's sleepover."

they said that being surrounded by a few youngsters who will be my neighbour from now on, they came inside the room and introduced themselves one by one until someone who looked like Lena, who also had red hair just like her, "Hey Lena, who is this person?"

"Oh yeah, she is my twin sister Lula,"

"Hello there, Alicia; you may already know me; I'm the older twin."

"Sis, we were born at the same time,"

"Shh, my dear younger twin, I came out first before you; that means I'm your older sister."

Lula exclaimed her title of the older sister; although the two of them were the same height, Lula has a slim body perfectly fitted for her vibe; I presume that she has athletic ability,

"Do you do any kind of sports?"

"Yeah, I did gymnastics. Why do you ask?"

"you look athletic."

"Hehe, is that so,"

They all introduce themselves, and the room starts to feel lively as the door opens slowly and Fiona, dressed in a nightgown, comes in. There seems to be something missing, maybe another one.
