Rain in the midst of pain (Jayden's P.O.V)

After I killed every single one of those scientists I felt liberated. There was no joy in my heart only liberation. I did not really feel any emotions for my heart had gone cold.

I gave no thought to the fact that I was in a tattered outfit. I just walked and walked, walked straight with no destination in mind. All I could think of was walking.

I don't know how long I walked for but I knew I walked for days. Food and water were of no consequence to me at that point, I just did not care for them.

Thoughts of my sister, Meline, came into my mind a lot of times. Was she okay? How was she faring? Could she be dead? No, Meline was strong she would not die.

I decided to find Meline but I did not know where I was or anybody. I stole a map and then started to look out for places she would go to. I worked as a salesman for some time and made a little money which I used to buy information about Meline Wolf.

There was nothing on her and she was suspected to be dead but I refused to believe that. Meline would not just die like that. I continued to search for her, I searched high and low, leaving no stone unturned.

It started to rain but I did not care I marched forward. I finally had a lead and would not let go of it. I reached an inconspicuous big white building.

I walked towards it but was stopped by two men who suddenly appeared.

"Restricted area, provide clearance and identification or leave" One of them said.

I brought out some flame through my fingers tips🔥 and got ready to shoot it at someone, my sister could be there so I was ready to fight my way in. But a gust of air went by and blew out the flames. Another person was here, it was a middle aged looking man with a solemn attitude.

"Leave us" the man said and the two men left.

"I am Tristan Faraday, who are you?" The man said.

"I am Jayden Wolf" I replied, but was on guard incase the man wanted to play any tricks.

"Jayden Wolf...hmm... what's your mission here?" The man said.

"I'm searching for my sister and I believe she could be here" I replied.

"Meline Wolf, I presume" the man said.

"Yes! is she here" I said, feeling joy for the first time in forever.

"She's dead" The man said.

"No, no! NO!!!!" I said refusing to believe that Meline was dead.

"It's the truth, you have to accept it. An assassin from my rival's team accepted a mission to kill her and killed her. She was a good kid... I knew her personally. She mentioned you a few times, if you'd like I could support you. Your sister was an indispensable ally and if helping you would clear my debt to her I would" the man said.

As if agreeing with my sad moment, it started to rain. It rained fiercely and heavily. Mr. Faraday led me inside and set me up. I had an unfathomable look in my eyes, my eyes welled with tears and I made no effort to stop the tears from coming down.

They came down fiercely 😫 😢 😭 and I sniffled 🤧 multiple times. My sister was dead. She was my mentor, family, mother, father, she was all I had.

"Men don't cry, wipe your tears" a man said.

I refused to listen and kept looking outside sparing the man no glance.

"My name is Rainy and I know how you feel. Everyone here has a similar story and has even been subjected to experiments. I'm not excluded so trust me when I say that I know how you feel" He said.

"You know my story?" I ask.

"It's not too hard to find out about. Since I know yours I'll tell you mine

I am 2 1 0 years old. When I was 5, my uncle kicked me out of the house. My dad died when I was 1, my mum and I were living with my mum's sister and her husband. Her husband, my uncle Dawson, hated my guts. All his children were female and so he hated seeing other peoples male children.

One morning, he was mad at me for frivolous reasons and threatened to kick me out. Seeing that I was not too bothered, he actually kicked me out. It was during Winter and I fell face flat into the snow.

I was in the snow for hours. Something special had happened at that time, there was a scientist living just beside us. He had a lot of radioactive substances and some had mixed an leaked into the snow.

The snow then stimulated me and awoke dormant powers, magic. I ran away, my mum was not the best mum an would do fine without me. I became a sort of vigilante, trying to help the masses.

The government found out about me somehow and took me away. I was subjected to many rounds of testing and experiments.

It continued day and night for 85 years before the experiment was shut down. I wasn't exactly freed either, the scientists were killed and I had to fight my way out.

I met Mr. Faraday a day after I had escaped from the government facility. It was as if he knew I was special, he talked to me both about things I knew and didn't know and then took me in.

My story doesn't seem very spectacular, pretty but it is what it is. I toned down a lot of things but I believe you get the gist"

"Family is the worst" I say.

"I guess so" Rainy says, now looking outside like me.

"No, that is not true. You have had terrible families so you think like that. In this safe haven we are a family and we are definitely not 'the worst' " Mr. Faraday says.

I didn't even notice when he appeared. It was until I heard his voice that I knew he had always been there.

Family is great when you have a good one so never you take them for granted. You never know what you have until you lose it.
