Chapter 20: The Kiss

Serena arrived at Damian's house. The gatekeeper had already been waiting for them, he opened the gate without giving them any trouble and Serena appreciated it.

She parked the car next to Damian's car and stepped out. She helped her mother out of the car, as she stepped back, she spotted Damian walking towards them.

"Mother," he greeted Ivy by placing her hand on his forehead. "Serena," he called out her name in acknowledgment and she nodded at him.

Damian supported Ivy out of Serena's hand and escorted her to the house. Serena followed behind them taking in the house in awe.

In her past life, she had been too caught up in Alex's world to have ever taken the time to know where Damian lived. Now that she stood there and saw it firsthand, she was impressed.

The mansion was lavishly designed on the outside which gave off the aura of royalty at first glance. The compound was well lit that despite being night, she could see every corner of the compound.

She adored the well-manicured lawn and flower garden that stretched to the gate. It was beautifully maintained to form a mini-roundabout in the middle of the front porch.

Serena blushed at the thought of spending the rest of her life in that house, as Mrs. Delgado. She could feel the blood pumping to her cheeks as she was engulfed in adrenaline.

She shook her head and pushed such thoughts to the back of her mind and raced to catch up to Damian and her mother. She arrived in time to have Damian introduce her to the line of servants that stood in the room in full uniform.

"This is Serena, she is the new Miss of the house and this is her mother. I expect you to treat the two of them as you would treat me," he spoke in confidence demanding obedience from the line of male and female servants.

Serena blushed crimson at his words. Damian asked the housekeeper to help Ivy to her room and send her food over to her. Understanding that she might need to be alone for a while.

Ivy gave him a kind smile, she bid good night to Serena and went ahead with the housekeeper. The servants dismissed and exited the room in an orderly manner.

Serena was left in her nightgown and a coat standing in the room with Damian. "You missed me, didn't you?" Damian whispered to her.

She blinked realizing how close he was to her. She tried to meet his gaze but his ambiance forced her eyes to drop to the ground. She blushed again, this time it was from the warm breath clouding her senses from close Damian stood to her.

His proximity in knowing that her back was technically against his hard chest. Forcing Serena to tense.

Serena began to melt into his touch. She leaned back and laid her head on his chest, letting the warmth oozing from him engulf her.

Damian reached for her hand and pushed his fingers into hers. Serena immediately clutched his fingers and held him.

Damian wrapped an arm around Serena and pulled her close to him. He does so without any warning, a soft gasp escapes Serena's lips, as he turns her towards him with his other hand to her side.

She glanced up at him, her eyes trailing from his eyes to his lips. Her mind recalled the heated moment they shared a few hours back when they almost kissed.

Her eyes lock with his, unwavering and steady. His smile remains while her lips part at the intensity that his gaze beholds. He leans forward, his lips just a breath away from Serena.

His fingers scoop beneath her chin, lifting her gaze to his. Damian looked into her eyes as though asking permission from her to press his lips against hers in a kiss.

Serena closed her eyes as a way of giving him a response. Damian went for it and clashes his lips against hers. Despite him looking gentle and careful, his kiss is anything but. It's needy, rough, and everything that Serena never knew she needed.

She drowned into the kiss, willing to be submerged by Damian and his entire being. Serena moves her tongue trying to match his movements in the hot and passionate exchange.

Yet Damian refused to let go of control, he kissed her greedily.

Damian broke the kiss, he slowly panted for air while resting his forehead on hers. Serena opened her eyes and met he gave. Her breath catches as she takes in his blazing eyes. The fire in his eyes mirroring the heat that coursed through her veins.

Her cheeks turned crimson red from blush. He was making her feel things she never knew possible and they had only just met again. It felt like they had known each other forever.

Damian kissed a steamy path up to her ear and whispered, "You should get some sleep."

Serena forced herself to pull away from him. She brought her finger to feel her tingling lips, the sensation that lingered made her heart thump loudly in her chest.

The night had been long and eventful but she couldn't think of a more perfect way to end it than the beautiful kiss she shared with Damian. He made her dark night seem bright with barely a moment.

"I should," she uttered in a tone a notch above a whisper looking everywhere but at the man that left her breathless. "Where do I sleep?" She inquired from him seeing as the servants had all left and there was no one but him to show her around.

"By my side," Damian spoke out. Serena raised her gaze to his, stunned by his suggestion. The butterflies in her stomach fluttered as the thought manifested in her mind.

Damian's lips curled up in a knowing smile, following the train her thoughts went to at his words. "Is where you will sleep after we marry," he clarified in a deep tantalizing seductive voice. "Now, you can sleep in the room next to your mother's," he added breaking her train of thought.

"Oh," Serena said forgetting to mask the disappointment in her face and voice.
