Damian stared at her. Her words confused him, he was sure what she was talking about. He was lost on how to offer comfort to her when he wasn't conclusive about what the problem was.

Serena lowered her head, she wiped the tears in her eyes. "Mother!!" she gave attention to Damian's scream causing her to raise her head in her mother's direction.

Ivy was lying unconscious in Damian's arms. Serena's heartbeat thundered in her chest, it missed a beat for a moment.

Her mind raced to process what was happening. She blinked her eyes in confusion, it was an unexpected turn of events that left her rooted to the ground. All sounds died down, it was like someone had hit pause on all sounds in the room.

People's lips were moving but she could hardly make out what they were saying. Screams resonated all around her, other than the sound of her heartbeat the girl couldn't hear anything.
