Move 14: Trade

"That is the shop, My Lord."

Michael said while pointing at the shop a few distances away from them.

It is nine in the morning when Oli decides to visit the shop to trade the spices and one specific product that Oli thinks could sell at a high price. The group was now at the trading street where all the merchants were located. There's a lot of variety one could choose from, from shops to stalls.

They stop at the extravagant shop. From the exterior, the shop looks luxurious. It was created with spruce lumber and contained red pine wooden adornments mixed with bricks that made it look like a strong and formidable shop. Short, broad windows allow plenty of sunlight to come through, giving a majestic impression to anyone.

This shop is different from all the shops situated on the trading street. And it's evident at a glance that the owner is wealthy.

Oli looks at the brothers who are holding the bag of spices and a crate which they are carefully holding.

"Then… Let's go in."

"Do you need something?"

A man wearing luxurious clothing welcomes Oli and the others with a smile on his face. But when he saw that they were all wearing tunic clothes, his expression turned sour.

"What do you want?"

The man repeated, but this time his tone was rude.

While Michael and the others can curse at guards who disrespect Oli, this time, they remain silent because of the ring the man's wearing.

The Baron's ring Oli's wearing was brown, unlike the black portal ring he's wearing on his left arm.

But the man was wearing a gray ring, meaning he was a Viscount.

"My Lord, we're here because we heard that we could trade here anonymously," Michael said.

"Tsk! So you're someone's servant, huh? See that room? Go inside and wait for your turn."

The man said, then he turned around and went upstairs.

Oli and the others followed the instructions and went inside the room.

The room was large, but there was a partition inside. In the middle was a small room chamber where the trade and negotiation happened.

Aside from the current trader inside the chamber, Oli's group was the only one inside.

Minutes passed, and the trader who was inside the chamber finally came out. He has a grumpy expression on his face.

He did not like the negotiation that transpired inside.

"Next!"

Oli heard a voice inside the chamber. Oli smiled internally.

Yes, Oli has no experience when it comes to business, but he knew that the products he had at this moment were a treasure chest in the current era of this world.

Oli went inside the chamber, and on his back were Zack and Zeck holding a crate. The compartments were somewhat large, and three people could fit inside. There was a window covered with a curtain.

"What do you have?" A deep voice of a man resounded on the other side.

"Are you the owner of this shop?" Oli asked.

"No. I'm not. The owners' were currently busy on substantial matters. And why are you asking that question? Just showed what you have, you fucking commoner!" The man intensely replied.

Oli looked at Zack and Zeck, restraining themselves not to go on the other side and thrash the man.

But Oli just smiled. He was accustomed to all the rude and impolite attitudes people could give. There are a lot of people like this man back on Earth.

"Sadly, the goods I have right now are a bit different. And I needed to talk to someone higher than you because you don't have the power to decide when you see the goods I have." Oli said.

If Oli wanted to get a high price and a lot of privilege, he needed someone whose position was significant in this shop.

But aside from that, Oli's goal was to make a connection.

Oli needed someone who was going to introduce the product he had to the public and someone powerful enough that could support and back him up.

Because Oli's grand plan was to build a business where the main product was the spice and the other products that do not exist in Chronos.

And finally, dominate the market and make the Leefside the center of Chronos.

"This fucker! If I didn't have the power to decide and put a price on your worthless product, I wouldn't be here right now while talking to a worthless person like you! Choose! You would show your stupid product and start the negotiation or I will go to the guards and kick you out here on Kuku!" The man angrily shouted.

Oli sighed in defeat. Yes, Oli was accustomed to this kind attitude, but he's only an ordinary person that could run out of patience.

Without saying a word, he signals Zack and Zeck to open the crate. The two followed Oli's order and opened the crate carefully.

When the crate is opened, it exposes the contents of the crate.

A clear glass of wine.

The people of Chronos, especially the Nobles, were using a cup made of gold and silver. While the commoners were using a wooden cup.

Oli didn't know if glass existed someplace here on Chronos, but Oli was sure here on the Central Continent that glass was non-existent here.

And looking at the books Oli read, as well as the verbal description of commoners, Nobles were individuals who wanted luxurious lifestyles and things because Nobles wanted to flex their wealth.

Oli casually took the wine glass.

"M-My L-Lord… P-please, be c-careful." Zack said while stuttering.

"Y-yes, M-My Lord. T-that cup. It looks like it could be shattered even in the slightest movement." Zeck followed.

Oli looked at the two with complicated eyes.

Yes, it could easily shatter because it is made of glass, but the price of this wine glass was the cheapest on the market on Earth. With the price of one dollar, Oli could buy as many wine glasses as he wanted. And also, he could get a discount when purchasing wholesale.
