Ex-God Will not Lower His Head

Apta was silent there, bowing as if he was respecting his boss. That feeling in his heart, it somehow felt like he had to respect the girl named Isty. And whatever he was thinking right now, there was only confusion in his body's response.

Since the first time he saw Isty, Apta felt a sensation where he was in a different position from Isty. If Isty is the queen, then Apta is just a slave. That sensation continues to be embedded in Apta's current feelings, which seems not to want to disappoint his queen.

"What's with this body? Why do I have to be like this to humans? If I was a human, it shouldn't have come to this, right? What should have happened is that I was here as a guest, who has the same status as her," Apta said in his mind, still bowed and did not dare to look at Isty who was in front of him.

Apta understood what his current position should be, but somehow just looking at the graceful Isty in her kimono and her voice alone made Apta like this. Her position with Apta seemed different, even though she and Apta were in the same room. Even Tobi who was there already looked like his superior, who was like a butler.

It felt strange but so real for Apta to feel the sensation in this room. What happened to his body?

"So, Mr. Apta..."

"Just call Apta," Apta responded unintentionally when Isty called him.

"But..."

"It's okay. Lady Isty, please just call me Apta."

"Alright... Apta... nice name."

"Thank you very much, Lady Isty."

Apta couldn't even avoid his mouth. He even called Isty Lady Isty.

Isty smiled seeing Apta, and after that, she told Apta to sit down.

"Please sit down, Apta!"

"Okay, thanks."

The two of them were across from each other, separated by a small table in front of them, but Apta couldn't turn away from bowing his head just because he couldn't see Isty's face.

"I've got a message from Marco. In the message, he said that you helped him to save the village. You helped Marco to create a barrier."

Her voice was too soft, it looked as if it was a woolen thread. Apta only heard that, but he had already predicted that Isty's face would be beautiful.

"No, I just..."

"Oh, you are so humble. You are a good person, Apta. Helping fellow humans is a good deed, and even you are humble like this."

After Isty said, Apta tried to move his neck.

He was able to do that but was only able to see Tobi who was in the corner of the room. What he saw was Tobi who gave him a small smile.

But just this once, he thought of forcing his body to obey him. He forced himself to look at Isty who was in front of him, and it worked. But strangely, after Apta managed to see Isty's face, Apta saw Isty was a little surprised. It seemed like Isty didn't expect that Apta could see her.

Apta has managed to see Isty's very beautiful face with white skin, silver hair, and beautiful eyes. He then smiled.

"Nope. I'm not the kind of person you say. Even if Marco says I helped him, it doesn't mean I'm a good person. And just so you know, I'm not at all humble, like you said earlier. I just wanted to say that I only accompanied Marco. I accidentally met him and accompanied him to create a barrier for the village."

The speed to surpass the limit by force was what Apta had done so many times that he couldn't even count. For him, sometimes there are times when he has to force himself to do what he wants. Even if it cost him part of his body, he would still do it. His wish is number one for him.

"Is that so? Sorry for my premature conclusion."

A sad look appeared on Isty's face. Even so, she didn't lower or raise her voice at all.

Apta reflexively turned to Tobi. Tobi, who there was not happy with what happened earlier, was shown from the look on his face. He put on a fake smile that Apta could tell.

Apta wasn't pressured by it and didn't feel guilty for telling the truth. He even casually turned his head back to Isty. He didn't feel guilty in this position.

"Why are you apologizing, Lady Isty? You shouldn't have done that, it's as if I'm the one at fault here. You know what, don't be so gentle with others. If you continue like that, you might end up being betrayed by your subordinates or your guests. Remember, even if you're the important girl here, you shouldn't overestimate yourself as an important human being."

Those were rather harsh words that Apta said to Isty, but Apta knew the limits of not being too harsh than that. Even so, it still hurt Isty's feelings.

"Yeah, you're right. Since my father's death, I..."

"Lady, stop that!"

Tobi reproached, it looked as if he didn't allow Isty to say that. Even so, Isty kept saying and didn't hear Tobi trying to stop her.

"Sorry Tobi, but I can't lie to people who have been honest about it with me. So Apta, I'm like this because..."

His father's death had a huge impact on the town. His father was in charge of this city, ordered directly by the President. When his father died unnoticed, the town was in a phase of confusion with a new leader.

Many residents sided with the Yamada clan to continue the duties of this town leader, but some residents did not approve of that. The residents who did not agree with it begged the President that it was not the Yamada family who led this town. As a result, the Yamada family must try to calm the residents so they don't get too confused about the problem of choosing the town's leader.

The Yamada family uses various ways, including being friendly to anyone in this town, and that includes immigrants from other cities. It was all aimed at preventing this city from being divided, which would lead to a rebellion. And Isty, as one of the daughters of the former leader of this town, was chosen by her family to continue her father's work. That's why she tries to be kind to people.

That's what happened to her and her family and this town. Isty told Apta that, even though Apta was a foreigner.

But the story that Isty told Apta earlier, was not the story that Apta wanted to know. What he wants to know is, why he can submit to Isty. Apta and Isty are both human, but Apta is subservient to her. That's what confused him.

"Then, why would I..."

Isty knows what Apta wants to ask. She quickly took something out of the pocket of her blue kimono.

"Sorry, maybe because of this... I shouldn't have brought this."

An item is shown by Isty to Apta. The item is round and purple with a gold frame and looks like a pendant.

"What's that?" Apta asked, continuing to stare at the item.

"This is a Sacred item. This item was given by the President to this family because we lead this town. Some of us, people who were directly elected by the President, have this too."

"Oh, I see..."

"This item has the power of the President, that's why you feel the sensation where you are at the bottom. So, if you're asking why you're bowing to me like I'm your boss, it's because I have this item. Sorry, I shouldn't have brought this item. As a result of that…"

Isty stopped her words. She looked at Apta who was watching the item in her hand seriously.

"Apta, what's wrong?"

Hearing Isty's voice, Apta suddenly woke up from his thoughts and immediately turned to Isty.

"It's nothing. So, that item is the President's power?"

"Yeah, that's right. Sorry for making you like this. Because I brought this item, you even..."

"It doesn't matter. Most importantly, you've given me the information I need."

"Umph? What do you mean?"

"That item you showed me, the Sacred item, I seem to recognize it."

"Have you seen this before?"

"Yeah, I see that often."

"I see. It seems that a lot of people have faked this item."

"Yeah, that's how it is."

And fortunately, what Apta meant was not understood by Isty. Isty assumed that Apta often saw the item because the sneaky merchants had made fake items that resembled the item.

"Geez, that's my power. It seems that the President is that little girl. I hope my guess is right," Apta said in his mind.
