"Inside myself is a dragon. I'll be evolving in a bit. I will satisfy my desire to kill all of you. You'll see, I will rise and become the number one being in this world. Hahaha."
A man said that out loud, in a public place full of people and near Apta and Tobi.
"What's wrong with that person?" Apta asked.
"Well, he's like that. You don't need to pay attention to him—he's a bit crazy indeed," Tobi answered lightly as if he was used to seeing such a man. "You ignore him, and let's walk."
Tobi told Apta to walk and ignored the man, but Apta's eyes didn't move from the man at all. Apta didn't seem to want to take his eyes off the man even though he followed Tobi from behind.
This town is very busy, many people pass by on their way. The night was so crowded and looked beautiful full of lights. Pubs, restaurants, clothing stores, weapon shops... all adorn this town. However, the man remained busy, screaming incoherently and saying that there was a dragon inside him.
The cherry blossoms on the side of the road are also blooming, and it makes the town even more colorful even at night. The air around you felt as if you didn't want to leave, it was so cool and warm. The merchants shouted to sell the goods they were selling, as well as the jewelry dealers that Apta and Tobi had just passed.
Residents wear kimonos and some don't. They looked like they wanted to start the evening by entering a pub or a food stall. And from what is different here, namely the crowd, Apta is not used to it. Therefore, he was not too flashy and only followed Tobi after staring at the man for a while.
Tobi, who guides Apta, looks engrossed in greeting one by one. He seemed famous in this area, many people greeted him gently and kindly. He was too busy to say hello so it was rare to look back, right where Apta was. Apta just looked around him. He was completely new to knowing that, the crowds amid human life.
"So this is the thrill of being between them. My head is quite dizzy to see them and this town. Too noisy, too many people talking, and too busy to look at," Apta said in his mind.
Void, lonely, friendless, Apta is just such a god. Even if he has to perform a ceremony between the gods, he prefers to be alone in an empty place. The crowd gave him a headache. He wasn't used to it.
Even so, he still has to do this, sacrificing his personality and ego that doesn't like crowds.
"So… what do you think of this town?"
Tobi asked that after no one greeted him anymore. He almost turned his head back.
After asking, why did Apta get the kimono and the long sword, Tobi didn't even ask where Apta came from. He didn't seem to need to ask that, or maybe he knew that asking that would be like intruding on Apta's privacy. Even so, he had gotten the answer to his question, the origin of that kimono, and the long sword that Apta got.
"Well, it's too crowded in here."
"Yeah, that's how it is. The town is always busy at night. They enjoy their day at night. In other words, they were venting their tiredness this night. You know what, they will be busy in the morning and afternoon because of their work. On this sunny night, they can rest and release all their tiredness. I also like to mingle with them sometimes. When I'm with them, I don't feel tired at all after work."
"So you and them..."
"Yeah, every night, we're always like this. You'll see this even if it's 1 am."
"Humans are really weird," Apta said in his mind. "They expressed their tiredness as if they were partying. It didn't look like they were resting their bodies at all. They wasted stamina just for the sake of tonight, and said it was as if they were resting their bodies from their tiredness."
Apta said that in his mind, but Apta knew that he still had to respect them. Apta knows that they do it because they are used to it, or you can call it their culture. So he shouldn't bother them just because he doesn't like crowds.
***
Apta and Tobi arrived in front of a house that had a fairly large fence made of wood. The house looks quite large even surrounded by wooden walls and one entrance. The location of the house is not too far from where the crowds of the city dwellers are, as far as 200 meters.
"We have arrived."
Before Tobi said that, Apta looked up; right up to the window of the house. He had seen a shadow that seemed to be watching him from there, then just disappeared.
Tobi turned to Apta who was still looking at the window.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. So, this is her house?"
"Yes, this is the house of the Yamada clan. Miss Isty is waiting for you in there."
Apta didn't suspect anything, even though he just moved his right palm as if trying to cast his skill, the skill to place a purple dot and teleport to it. He forgot that he didn't have that skill anymore because he wasn't the God of Void.
"Let's go inside."
Several guards were staying in the courtyard of the house when Apta and Tobi passed the gate to enter the house. The guards circled the house in every courtyard, looking as though they wouldn't let anything bad happen. And they are equipped with weapons, and on average it is a katana-type sword.
"Oh, it's grass."
Apta was quite surprised when he stepped on the grass in the yard. He didn't expect that he would step on the grass again after entering this town. Even so, after walking for 5 steps, he didn't step on the grass from the lawn again. He had arrived at the road that led directly to the entrance of the house, which separated the grass from the house.
Apta looked straight from where he walked towards the entrance. It was 10 meters away from him, not too far away, but he looked at it as if he was looking into the distance. He was like that because he wanted to know what was waiting for him behind that door. Therefore, he tried to stare at it as if he was staring at it from a distance.
Arriving at the entrance, two guards opened the door for Apta and Tobi. Behind the door, only a thin wall of floral motifs awaited him.
"Empty?" Apta asked, confused as to why there was only a thin wall in front of him.
"No, it's not empty," Tobi replied kindly, almost laughing.
Tobi walked over after smiling at Apta. He shifted the thin wall casually, then revealed the contents of what was inside.
"Oh, I see. It's a sliding door."
"Please come in. Wait in there, I will call Miss Isty."
"Okay."
Apta went in there, which was probably the living room. Then, he sat down casually like he was in his comfort zone.
After Tobi left him, Apta looked around.
"It's a table, I know that. Then... Oh, it's a painting. I'm pretty good at it. Um... Why is that sword on display like that? Is it a special sword? Maybe the sword should not be taken, or maybe the sword is sacred, so it should be displayed on the statue. And this… oh, this is my leg."
While waiting for Miss Isty's arrival, Apta looked around and noticed some things that were there. He was busy looking around and even talked as if he was with someone else.
If ten people were there to sleep, the room would fit. The room was quite spacious, and there was only a table not too high in the middle of the room. Judging from the structure of the room, the room aims to welcome guests only, hold meetings without the need for chairs, relax... Even if it has a striking design, it is surrounded by thin walls that have floral motifs and furniture that is not very useful and unremarkable interior, the room was just a living room.
Even so, Apta uses the room for him to learn about a proper place to live for humans.
"This room is even bigger than my private room. Can't they save some space to put it to good use? Or, are they too greedy just for this useless place? Anyway, this must be what is called a guest room. So, this room will be useful if there are guests. I'm very smart to know that."
After waiting for 28 minutes, what Apta was waiting for finally came. Miss Isty shifted the door, walked over to Apta, and Tobi was behind her.
"Mr. Apta, welcome to the Yamada family home."
That voice... sounded so friendly to Apta's ears, and Apta immediately stood up and reflexively bowed.
"What...?" And he was surprised with himself.
