Journey to Tviay Town (2)

Over there, Apta can see so many houses. It was a residential, Tviay town filled with many humans living there. To the north, as far as Apta's eyes could see, there was an ocean so vast as if you could find no other land from there. There is also a harbor there, but there are several guards who seem so strict that it seems that no one is allowed to enter this town. Apta only saw the town from a distance. He was currently on a plateau that was able to see the surroundings of the town that didn't have that barrier wall.

Some people were indeed there, right at what was probably the entrance to the town, but Apta doubted that he would be able to enter there easily. Even if his appearance is almost similar to theirs, who are both wearing kimonos, Apta still doubts that.

He was too foreign to be in society. Apta is confused about what will happen if he is there, mingling with them as humans. He did have a goal there, namely to meet Isty Yamada, but Apta was sure that meeting her was not easy. He was sure that he should inquire about Isty's whereabouts from other people who were residents there. So that means, he is the same as having blended in there as a foreigner wearing Kimono clothes.

"It can't be helped, I live as a human, I also know that I am a human who doesn't know anything about how to socialize with them, so I have to do this. I hope she finds out about the girl's whereabouts."

Apta decided to go there. He descended the plateau only to walk to the entrance of the city.

Up there, there was a guard who wasn't too strict. There are only one to three people, wearing red Kimono clothes. And apparently, the city's signature attire is "Kimono", although there are some residents who don't.

"Good afternoon, is there anything I can help you with?"

One of the guards greeted Apta.

Judging from the moon and the shining stars, Apta knew that the guard was greeting him.

"Good afternoon..."

Before Apta could say that he wanted to go in to meet Isty Yamada, the guard extended his hand toward Apta.

Apta was confused by that, but he finally asked.

"What's wrong?"

"Letter... Where is your letter?"

"...Letter?"

Even Apta had to tilt his head in confusion with that.

"You are from Jarwo city, right? Judging by your clothes and your face, you're from there, aren't you? So where's your entry pass? You want to go inside, don't you?"

"Um..."

Apta doesn't understand that at all. The city called Jarwo by the guard was not understood by Apta at all, nor did the entry pass. Even so, Apta knows that he must have an entry pass to enter there.

"Oh, I see. I'm… Alright."

Apta wanted to give up on this instead of having to do something even further, forcing his way into the city by injuring the guards. He realized that he had no chance to go in there.

But before Apta turned around and left, a man who had been among the several residents came and said that he was sent by the Yamada clan.

"Are you Apta?"

He came and passed the guard who was in front of Apta. And finally, he was standing right in front of Apta.

Judging by his appearance, who was wearing a red Kimono but had a different motive than the guard's Kimono, he was probably the guardian of this city as well. Perhaps the purpose of the different motifs of his Kimono was to show that he was the guard who had a higher position than them.

Apta just nodded to answer that, that he was Apta.

"Oh, that's good. I've been waiting for you here for 4 days. I thought you got lost or got eaten by a demon. Hehehe."

He must be making a joke. What he said was not something nice to say. Even so, Apta only responded with silence.

"I am Tobi Fujita, the envoy of the Yamada clan. You can call me Tobi. I'm here to pick you up because Miss Isty told me to."

He had such an innocent and cheerful face. Even if he has short blonde hair and is taller than Apta, his face seems to show that he is a man who is easily fooled and tricked by women. Just looking at his face, Apta already knows that.

After introducing himself, Tobi turned 360 degrees right at the guard.

"Mr. Denbei, this is the incoming letter for him. He is a guest of the Yamada clan, so let him in."

He gave him something made of paper. The paper was filled with writing and red ink, probably a signature.

"Oh, sorry, I thought he was from Jarwo city. I'm sorry, Mr. Apta. I misunderstood and assumed you were from there."

Apta still just nodded, as if he knew what was happening.

"Let's go in!" Tobi ordered, walking ahead of Apta. Then, Apta followed him.

Apta wanted to ask him many things, such as how did he know that it was Apta, why he was sent by the Yamada clan to pick him up, and how he was sent by the Yamada clan to know that Apta would be here. What was on Apta's mind were questions.

"May I ask something?" Tobi suddenly said and turned his head towards Apta.

Apta should be the one asking now, not Tobi.

"Sure."

"Where did you get that Kimono from? You know what, the kimono you're wearing is supposed to be for the knights from Jarwo city only. They have to wear it if they want to enter this town."

"..."

Apta thought then. He finally knew the reason why the guard thought Apta was from Jarwo city.

"Also, that your sword… You should be better off hiding it in public," Tobi continued.

"I got this Kimono and this sword from them, the knights who told the villagers to pay taxes."

"Oh, I see. As expected, it came from there. Miss Isty said that Marco was dealing with the knights in the village and had already set up a barrier for the village. I think that makes sense."

After Tobi said that, he stopped and turned around.

"You hit them, didn't you?"

He said that with a smile, looking as if he knew what Apta had done to the knights.

Then he turned around and started walking again.

"Fortunately you are out of that city. If you do that in their cage, I don't know what your fate will be. They do deserve that. I sometimes get annoyed with their behavior. They were too proud of the residents. Also… they are too obedient to the rules made by the President."

There is a dispute here, Apta thinks so. What Tobi said was to show that he didn't like the knights, and maybe there were more people like that here too. Judging from the current situation, this country is in a phase of the conflict with each other which is less comfortable for Apta to know. And in the history that Apta had seen when he was still the God of Void, humans were the most greedy creatures who lived in this world.

"Power..."

Apta said something that Tobi could hear, that's why Tobi turned towards Apta.

"Umph? Power?" Tobi asked in confusion.

"Nothing. So, are we heading to Isty now?"

"Yeah, we are currently heading towards the Yamada clan residence. She was dying to see you after getting a message from Marco. Marco said that you helped him to set up a barrier there. So, as a thank you, Miss Isty would like to thank you in person."

"Oh, I see. Marco is the one who has done this for me," Apta said in his mind.

Marco had written a letter to Isty asking Tobi to pick up Apta. His actions were beyond Apta's expectations, that humans can also care about other humans who are even strangers to him. If you look at it and you need to know, Apta is only accompanying Marco to create a barrier, not something that can help him. But strangely enough, Marco had gone this far only for him. Wow, that's all Apta can say right now to Marco who is a human.

"Judging something should not be half-assed. Marco has come this far for me, so I can't judge him badly at the moment. He has taught me that there are humans who still care about other humans in this world. And may that god, God of Fortune, can bless him so that he finds his luck to get out of this country," Apta said in his mind, looked up at the stars above him, and walked after Tobi.
