Her new life part~2

The doctor entered the room and noticed Evelyn in the bed with no power to get up but seemed to be in a harmonious sleep. Reaching near her, he noticed the presence of two men behind him.

"For her protection," the bulky man answered before the doctor could say anything, the doctor nodded.

It was understandable for him because the threat was too big. Every time when he would appear to treat someone in this house, bulky men would be accompanying him. He was used to it.

"Okay," He silently muttered and went near her bed to check if her pulse is healthy. Taking her hand, he kept three of his fingers on the inner side of her wrist as he concentrated on her heartbeats.

"It's normal…" He told a bit aloud so the guards could hear his words, meanwhile, he recorded various states she was in and noted them down.

After twenty-or-so minutes, he stood up to leave with the piece of paper in his hand, which he thought of handing over to someone so they can purchase the necessary pills for her in case something happened.

He turned towards the guards "Buy these medicines, I've prescribed how to take them in the behind, or any pharmacologist can explain." then he turned to look at Evy and slightly bowed "I wish you good health, m'lady"

He walked outside, thinking how it was easier today. Typically when he received a call from this family, it would always be something serious; something with a pool of blood. Someone would be shot, stabbed, or in similar scenarios. With a silent sigh, he strode outside.

The two men gave a bow to Evy before heading outside.

After a few hours of the peaceful dream she was getting, she woke up with a slight pain in her shoulder blades.

"Mhm… It hurts," she grunted in irritation as she massaged it gently. Opening her eyes, she noticed a suite similar to rooms she had seen in movies where aristocrats slept. Since it was night already, the rays entering through the window of the moon slightly lightened the squared-shaped room.

Twisting and turning to the side, she switched the bed lamp on and the entire room was clearly visible to her. The bed was queen-sized, and it was something that might be sufficient for her to sleep for eternity. She was content with her life and silently thanked the person she met from the in-between, the hell or the heaven.

The room's theme was gold and dark pink, which looked extravagant as ever, she admired that color combo. She moved near the broad window and opened them, breathing in the fresh air. The mansion was in the midst of the forest. "Aesthetic,"

*knock* *knock*

She gasped in shock when she heard the knocks coming from the door that was opposite of the side of the room where she was in. She didn't know how to react or who was on the other side of the door. Walking slowly she opened the door.

She was attended by a young man with a cheerful smile. "You are awake! Evy!" (Pronounced as 'Ivy')

"Hey… there!" She awkwardly caressed her neck. She had no memory of who it might be.

Claude was guilty of striking his sister. From his experience, it must be stinging a bit right now too. "I brought you some food, you must be hungry," He said and stepped inside the room without bothering to take permission.

From what appeared, Evelyn supposed he must be someone close. Following him, a man who ought to be in his early twenties walked inside with a tray of food. He was smiling, too.

"Your favorite chef with your favorite meal," the person who entered in front said and sat on the bed.

"Oh… Thank you. Can I use the restroom real quick?" She asked loudly while murmuring 'wherever it is,' right after.

"Yeah, sure." He replied, and Evelyn started to walk forward.

"It's this way, sis," he said pointing to his left. Evelyn nodded with a smile, "Oh right, what was I even thinking,"

She laughed it off and ran inside the bathroom.

She gasped in awe at seeing the huge bathtub. 'rich people,' she mumbled as she looked at the mirror. In spite of just waking up, she looked STUNNING

But that was not why she was here. In fact, she wished for help. She wanted to know everyone out there is, and especially she wanted to know who she is.

"Can you please help me, just this time?" she joined her hands interlocking fingers with each other. "Please, show me who I am?" she whispered, afraid that someone would hear her, and kept reciting it in her head like a mantra over and over again.

"I hear you, darling." There he was. Her life savior, floating in the air with a dazzling red suit, looking like a devil.

"Thank you for showing up! can I… Can I know what is this, who am I, who are they? How am I like?" she had no time to appreciate his beauty or compliment him. This was an emergency.

"Woah Woah, that's a lot of questions, why don't I gift you something?" He proposed and laughed.

Evelyn took some moments to consider, but in reality, the 'one' in front of her can hear her every thought. He would have pursued her anyhow.

"I don't have much time, yay or nay?" He joked. He surely was outgoing and kind.

"Sure, what else can I lose, anyway?"

"Okay, sit on the floor… It might be a bit of too much to you, fragile being,"

"Hey! That's triggering,"

"Was my intention all along." he shrugged and laughed it off. He was having all the fun he could with her. "Jokes aside sit," He added and kept watching her. She sat on the floor her eyes locked on his. Within moments, she felt as if her head was going to shatter into pieces. It was too much. She tried not to scream, yet whimpers came out of her lips. She held her head tight, trying to keep up with the pain. But her eyes didn't stop crying.

"It will be gone now. Stay tight," He claimed, and within seconds; the pain was gone. She massaged her temples and sighed.

"Who are you?" He inquired strictly.

"Evelyn Amber Hills,"

"How old are you?"

"I'm 23 years old,"

"How many siblings do you have?"

"Two. An elder brother and a younger sister, I'm the middle child."

"What do you think of your family?"

"I cherish them, they sure do dangerous things, but I adore them regardless. My dad loves me to the core, and so do my brother and sister. My brother tries to protect me always, but in a good way, by trying to make me strong. My little sister would do anything if I asked her to. They love me. I love them,"

"Hmm… you won't get anything without having to give back. I gave you the memory, but you will have to pay."

"That wasn't part of the plan!" The shock was clearly written on Evelyn's face. She wanted to know what he was speaking about. Now that a part of the deal is done, she had no choice but to do whatever he will ask.

"What should I do?" She asked, thinking there would be no turning back from anything this time.

"I want you to discover the betrayer in this family. Phew… That's the easiest I've gone on. Now… I have to go to work. I am late already thanks to a certain someone" He looked at her and lightly smiled. " Ciao, love," He said and threw a kiss at her before disappearing into thin air.

Betrayer? Who..? She started thinking but was troubled by the voices that came from outside the door.

"Coming!" she yelled and washed her face.

Walking outside, she saw her favorite lasagna on the table beside the bed. With no thoughts, she smiled at them and sat on the bed.

"Have you guys eaten? Can I eat?"

"Yes, we have. We have somewhere to be, but I will be back in 20 minutes. Bon appetite, Evy," her brother said and went out of the room.

She dug in as if she hadn't eaten in ages. Well, no one was there to see it anyways.
