008-Ambush

"I'm sorry to inform you, but I can't let that happen." Hearing the voice all members of Jake's squad turned while putting themselves on guard. After all, they didn't notice the arrival of this person who was covered in long black robes that covered his identity. "You know, for our plan to go as expected, Zaz'gin has to survive so you're going to have to die here."

As soon as he heard those words Jake ordered his men "Prepare for battle we have to kill this person in front of us. Archers and mages shoot at will; John, keep an eye out for the skeletons to see that we don't attract them with the noise. All others advance with me into battle."

At Jake's command his men began to move.

"Interesting, to think you are going to fight with me instead of running away"

During the last few years Jake had not been idle and had managed to evolve his swordsmanship to the master class. Unfortunately for him it was no use. As soon as he moved, there was a huge explosion of water that pushed all his men in the air. When Jake tried to get up, he saw that most of his men were dead some close to death and the person was still in the same place without moving.

"And to think that after an eighth-class spell someone would still move, interesting very interesting"

While the person said those words Jake managed to get up, but when he looked again at the person Jake noticed that the clothes no longer covered the face and that the person was the supreme mage of the Eyozosha Empire. Amazed, Jake stopped for a brief moment before remembering that person was in front of him was the enemy. Jake ran forward relying on his swordplay with the hope of being able to win this battle and avenge the members of his squad.

A mage's weakness was Jake's strong point, hand-to-hand combat and that was what Jake had hoped for to defeat the person in front of him. But before he could get close, he was hit in the back by an earthen bullet that punctured his lung.

Jake was lying on the floor bleeding close to the doors of death but he made an effort to see who had hit him. Seeing who it was, Jake couldn't help but ask.

"John? Why did you do this?" As Jake said these words, he spat a bit of blood.

"Is it not obvious? I should help my boss"

"Boss?"

"Yes Jake, boss. Sorry to inform you, but I've always worked for Daisy and you were supposed to die from the beginning. Honestly, I don't know how you survived so long but unfortunately for you your life path ends here" As he said this, John stabbed Jake in the head with his spear.

At the same time Jake was killed, his consciousness was moved elsewhere. Upon arriving at this place Jake heard a question.

"Jake, would you like to get revenge on humanity?"

Not knowing where he was or whose voice this was, Jake replied.

"With all my strength"

"Excellent, excellent, hope you don't disappoint me Jake"
