DISTRAUGHT

The test indeed came back negative, but wasn't this too early? Even Micah himself couldn't sense it yet. Maybe he was in a rush. He should have waited for a few days until Hazel showed any signs or he could sense it by himself.

On second thought, he seemed to be too hasty and scared her.

Micah shook his head. He didn't understand what was going on in his mind right now. He couldn't think about this clearly. Everything he believed to be inevitable got jumbled up and nothing was going the way he knew it did.

It was his fear of losing Hazel again that scared him the most, making him unable to think straight. He was really too hasty and needed to slow down, relax a little bit to gather his own thoughts, or else he would ruin everything, instead of saving anyone.

"You scared me." Hazel hugged him back, because she could feel how anxious he was. Micah was upset and she couldn't tell for sure what the reason behind it was.
