A Promise

When Mason entered the room Ava was lying on the bed. She was no longer crying.

"Hey," she said in a soft voice.

"Hey... How are you feeling?"

"A bit better, the pain is gradually reducing."

Mason came and stood beside her bed, he held her hand. "The doctor said this type of pain is sometimes expected. Have you felt this type of painful cramps before?"

"Yes, it happens sometimes. Other times it's not as painful."

Mason gently brushed a lock of hair away from her face. "We are going to find a solution to this."

Ava sighed, "There is no cure for it, it can only be managed."

"You can't continue this way, certainly there is something that can be done."

"I even have it easy, some ladies have it worse."

"I don't care how other ladies have it, you are who I care about, and as long as this thing is giving you discomfort, then I'm going to look for a solution."
