Give It Time

Ava held Layla until she stopped crying.

"I'm sorry you have to see me like this," Layla said with a sniffle as she pulled away from Ava's arms.

"It's just that it hurts, it hurts real bad. One minute I'm making progress in trying to get over him and then he shows up confusing me with the signals he was giving."

"You don't have to apologize, Layla, I get what you are going through, and your feelings are valid," Ava said in a calm voice.

Layla pulled out more tissues from the tissue box and cleaned her tears with them.

"I know I sound pathetic, and I'm angry at myself for feeling this way, but I can't seem to help it. I keep telling myself that I shouldn't care, but I do care."
