What's Left

Jack was hyperventilating so hard, he held his chest as he struggled to breathe. His body was drained with sweat as he sweated buckets.

Mason handed him a bottle of water, at first Jack was being sceptical about taking the water from Mason as he eyed it.

"You think I end you through poisoning?" Mason chuckled. "That would be a waste of resources. There are so many other ways to kill you, Jack." Mason pushed the bottle of water in his direction and Jack finally took it with shaky hands.

Mason watched as he gulped down the water, it dripped from both corners of his mouth.

When Jack was done taking the water, he started pleading again.

"Mason please, you don't have to do this."

"I won't do anything if you tell me what I want to know. Why did you kill Ava's father?"

"This is your brother's inheritance, you can't just burn his inheritance to the ground."
