Chapter 126: Coldness

[Vereena]

None of us say a word soon as we boarded my father's command ship. The stale awkward silence was like a punch in the gut that make me want to throw up. The tears have already stopped flowing, yet my lids and lashes were still soaked up with them.

I could feel their gazes only set heavily on me. Even without saying anything, I know they are full of questions right now. Things that I don't want to answer yet. Taking a shaky breath, my eyes landed on the dotted figure slowly shrinking from afar just as we departed Middlebron's.

Bluecoats filled my vision everywhere I look around the deck, exacerbating the sickening sensation sitting in my gut. My father's ship is almost twice larger than Jewel's. It's no wonder why Callum's men were easily surrounded and outnumbered. If I hadn't made this choice, things could have gone horribly wrong. Knowing my father, he will show no mercy upon them.
