   Brian arrived back at the hotel with Marie, an old friend he had run into earlier in the day. They had spent the day catching up, reminiscing about old times, and Brian had also confided in her about the situation with Emerald.


 Since Marie had mentioned that she was going to be in town for a few days, they decided to hang out some other time.


As they reached the hotel lobby, Marie checked her watch and sighed. "I guess I should get going, Brian. It's a bit late, and I need to get some things done before I go to bed," she said, a hint of tiredness in her voice.


 "I should get back to Emerald as well, so she doesn't worry too much," Brian replied, having a feeling that Emerald was awake, and probably wondering where he was. 


 "About what you mentioned earlier, I'll most certainly look into it and get back to you as soon as I get something," Marie assured.
