She Missed Arthur

"She must be scared of me."

Felix laid down on the chair, sighing tiredly. He rubbed his head, throbbing in pain from thinking about too many things. He just woke up, but look, a lot of work to be done.

"Don't be too sure about it. You don't really know her, do you?" Cass responded calmly. But on the other hand, she also realized that Holly looked scared. After all, who isn't afraid to hear that her future husband was a murderer and will kill again.

"I can see it clearly in her eyes."

Felix ruffled his hair, frustrated at the memory when Holly looked at him earlier. Cass patted him on the shoulder, gave meaningless support.

"She has to get used to this kind of thing. Sooner or later, she will see many deaths, whether it's about someone else or you."

"I think we're immortal."

Cass laughed. She knew Felix just joking. More than anyone, Felix knew better that his life would be on the brink after this curse ended. All of his enemies had been preparing to kill Felix from the moment he woke up.

"I need to see her!" Felix stood up suddenly, startling Cass and some of the maids in his room.

"Don't you need to focus on Justin first? We need a plan to find him."

Felix shrugged. "That's your job," he said and left without feeling guilty.

Holly's room was right beside his. Felix's hurried steps only took him ten seconds to reach Holly's door.

Felix was already holding the doorknob. He almost pushed the door, but he remembered what happened the last time he came here. Knock first.

Although the scene at that time was pleasant, Felix did not want to see it again without permission. For him, it was common for a woman to see a man's body. But when he saw Holly, he felt embarrassed. He saw something he shouldn't have seen.

First knock. There was no answer from the inside.

Second knock. Still no answers.

Third knock. Still no sound from Holly's room.

Felix decided to enter while squinting his eyes, prepared to suddenly find the same thing as yesterday.

He was lucky, or unlucky, that Holly wasn't doing what he expected. She was sleeping.

[Maybe I should comeback later.] That was what he thought, but his action was the opposite.

Felix approached Holly's bed. Her face looked pale, and sweat dripped down her forehead. She moved and groaned uncomfortably in her sleep.

Felix touched Holly's skin. It burned!

Felix started panicking. Holly sick! And it might be because of him.

[Wasn't she fine just now? Why is she suddenly sick? Is it because she's too afraid of me?]

"Adda! Adda!" Felix shouted very loudly. His voice was heard even as far as the ground floor.

Adda appeared in a hurry. She was also panicked when she heard Felix's scream. Her King rarely shouted like that.

"I need a physician!" said Felix in a firm voice.

Adda approached him. She must know what made Felix like this. She frowned when she saw Holly sleeping with a pale face. Adda touched her forehead and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Her Majesty was fine, Your Majesty. It's just a slight fever. I will get the medicine."

Honestly, it's not a slight fever. For human size, Holly's body was too hot. However, Holly could heal herself thanks to the curse, even though it took time. Immortal beings like Adda had gone through many injuries and wounds. Fever was just a very trivial problem for her.

"Has she had lunch?"

Adda shook her head. "Her Majesty hasn't eaten since yesterday."

Felix glared sharply. "Why did you let her starve? You should have forced her to eat! Feed her or stuff her, I don't care, but she has to eat!" Felix snapped. Adda was holding back her smile.

"I think stuffing Her Majesty with food would be inappropriate, Your Majesty."

"Hurry up and make the biggest snake soup you have."

Adda stayed in place. "I don't think Her Majesty want to eat snake soup." As long as Adda knew humans, she rarely saw humans who would eat snakes.

"What do you mean? Then, turtle! Find a gold turtle for her!"

"Your Majesty, looking for turtles on a hill like this would be impossible." Adda tried to explain calmly even though Felix looked very confused.

The golden tortoise was once known to able to treat various diseases. But the turtle was extinct hundreds of years ago. Adda can't blame Felix. The King certainly didn't know about this.

"Then what can she eat?"

"I'll make chicken soup. Your Majesty, please calm down. Her Majesty will be fine."

Adda slightly smiled. There was a warm feeling in her chest when she saw Felix panicked because of Holly. Adda had cared for Felix since he was in the womb. She knows Felix's true nature. And seeing Felix showing his caring side to Holly like this, there was a nostalgic feeling about the selfless little prince who always thought about others.

Felix nodded. "Off you go!" Adda went out before Felix panicked even more.

Felix looked at Holly's pale face with worriedness. His loud voice disturbed Holly's sleep. She opened her eyes slowly, and Felix held her hand tightly.

Holly's eyes were still droopy, looking tired and sore. She opened her mouth, her lips moved but Felix couldn't hear anything she said.

"Yes, My Queen?" Felix brought his face closer to Holly. As close as possible so he can hear her.

"Arthur," Holly said weakly. Her voice was still as low as before, but Felix managed to hear it this time.

Felix instantly turned his face away from Holly as he heard that name. "Who is Arthur?"

"Arthur," Holly said again.

Felix clenched his fists. [Who is Arthur?]

Holly's hand went up. Her warm palm touched Felix's cheek gently. "You're here, Arthur," she said with tears.

Felix's chest was like being stabbed by a blade. [Who is Arthur, and why is Holly crying over him?]

"I miss you." Holly sobbed.

Felix didn't know what to do. Holly must be hallucinated and thought he was Arthur.

Felix had no choice.

"It's okay. I'm here." Felix held Holly's hand, which was still touching his cheek and then he kissed her palm.

"Please don't leave me again." Holly's voice was hoarse and weak. Felix couldn't bear to hear that.

After that, Holly closed her eyes again as if nothing had happened. She went back to sleep soundly with her burned body.

[Is Arthur her husband?]

Felix felt stupid. How come he didn't ask first if Holly was married. Judging from her physique, Holly's age was definitely in her twenties. It was very natural if a woman her age to be married.

[But if she was married, where was her husband? How could her husband let her live like this?]

Felix had heard from Gilbert about the beast rumours, and Holly had come to this castle as a sacrifice. He wanted to laugh at that. How could those humans think Holly would be eaten. In fact, Felix wouldn't let anyone touch her.

Felix shook his head to let the bad thoughts go. He'd better worry about Holly's condition. She only came to this castle a few days ago and suddenly became a Queen. Indeed everything was too sudden for her. No wonder she was stressed and sick.

Not long after, Adda came with a bowl of chicken soup. Felix was initially annoyed that they could only give Holly a chicken. The dish was too cheap for the royal family. But there was no other choice because of their current condition.

Adda didn't say anything. She just put the food on the table and excused herself. She knew Felix would do the rest.

Felix stroked Holly's cheek gently. "Get up," he said as soft as possible. He didn't want to scare Holly.

Holly opened her eyes. Felix hoped she doesn't hallucinated again this time.

As Holly blinked her eyes slowly, doubt assailed Felix. [Is it okay for Holly to see me? What if Holly is still afraid of me and get sicker?]

When Holly opened her eyes widely, she looked very conscious. Felix immediately intended to stay away. He was sure Holly wouldn't want to see him.

But before he walked away, Holly grabbed his waist and hugged him tightly.

"Don't go!"
