“These are all lies!” Candela shouted, turning from the alpha and his council to plead with those in attendance. “Lies that can only be proven so on the Fated Islands. But your alpha and his whore want to rob me of my rights and even my life it seems. If your alpha seeks to punish me for these false accusations then so be it! But know that if I die at his hand, it will be murder!” 


Desiree looked to Declan, who seem unaffected by her outburst or the murmuring that went through those witnessing it.


“Candela Crier, for conspiring with our enemy and bringing harm to this pack, you will die.” 


It was easy to see all of the blood drain from Candela‘s face as the guards took her by the arms and placed chains around her wrists. The same chains Desiree had worn when she was brought to this chamber.
