Chapter 31: The Alpha's Journals

Desiree tried to forgive Declan for having to do his job as alpha and remain strong in the eyes of his crew, the pack members that had to trust his judgment and leadership as he was leading them into battle.

Instead, she let the blame fall at the feet of the person who truly deserved it, her father. She couldn’t fathom how a man could be so unkind and unfeeling to his own children. If he hadn’t sent her away to Blackstone, Desiree would have come of age in Sweetkane and none of this would be happening.

She would have been able to protect her sister from her father ever promising her to the likes of Blake Devlin in the first place. But then she remembered how charming and seductive Blake had been when they first met. She never would have thought he’d be capable of such atrocious behavior.
