Chapter 45: Who Hurt You?

Michael’s POV

The seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours as we stood in the waiting room. The anticipation was slowly eating away at everyone. With each opening of the door, our breaths hung in the balance, but no one stopped to talk to us. They just walked past and continued their path.

“What’s taking them so damn long?” I snapped. The waiting was killing me more than anything. I just needed to know that she was still alive, and despite the screaming siren, Havana would wake up.

I hadn’t heard the constant pang of the heart monitor flatline so I could assume she wasn’t dead, but that was all that I could assume. She’s not dead. That was the only saving grace that kept me from destroying the entire hospital.

A man came out in scrubs, he pulled down the medical mask and cleared his throat, gaining our attention. The name embroidered on his white lab coat read Dr. E Figs.
