"Azrel?"

Azrel stopped looking at his changed form and saw that he was alone again save for one dark-haired girl; she held her hand to him. He tried to remember if they had met before.

"I am a monster." He shied away from her but she stepped closer regardless.

"Azrel take my hand." She spoke with the voice of a thousand women before her. Being close to her made him feel more at ease. He felt human again.

"Please?" She spoke softly and he felt his heart buckle for her.

He reached for her hand feeling like he might crush her with his new claws. When they touched, he felt calm for the first time since he was a child.

Anaya thought back to everything that happened in the last few months. 


The rest of the battle was easily won once the Kosha men saw that their prince was dead. As a native of Kosha, Anaya was able to assume the throne and make Kosha a permanent part of Dermnith. 


Anaya realized that explaining to everyone what exactly Azrel was, was actually easier than explaining about herself. 


Kinth and Trager took the brunt of most of the explaining as the kingdom was cleaned up. 


Azrel mounted further attacks to take back Fernases and other territories still under rebel control. She was very proud of him as he had become a very respected ruler. The people loved him, and he was becoming more charming toward his people. 


“We will rebuild Genthral,” Azrel promised her one night, and the next morning he was true to his word.
