At a blood-thirsty castle in Dover, England, the chief vampire Lazarus has taken a woman from her home and holds her captive. He needs the blood from her to keep him young and powerful.
Drusilla is loved by her husband and her daughter, Ambrosia, but when Lazarus turns her into a vampire, she has no idea that she had a past life. 
As time passes, after her mother's disappearance Ambrosia meets Nikolas, a young man. They fall in love, but it is finally revealed that Nikolas is Lazarus's son and is controlled by his father. Nikolas must find a way to turn Ambrosia into a vampire for his father's vampire kingdom, but he goes against his father's wishes and turmoil begins. 
Talon and Ambrosia must save Drusilla; the only way is for Talon to kill Lazarus. Will she be saved in time, or will she die in the vampire's abyss?

SECRETS IN THE SHADOWS

While Talon and Ambrosia stand at Drusilla's coffin, Nikolas opens Lazarus's coffin and neither of them are in there. They become shocked, Talon and Ambrosia thought she was going to be there, and they would not know what to do if they had saw her laying there as a vampire. Nikolas looks to them and tells them that Lazarus isn't there either. The three of them stand there and ponder, Ambrosia looks to Nikolas.


"What should we do now?" Ambrosia asked.


"They must be out hunting for a victim." Nikolas replied.


"But where would they be? We were just in town." Ambrosia asked.


"We are going to have to search for them. I think I might know where they could be." Nikolas said.


"Do you think they are at that abyss?" Talon asked Nikolas.


"I'm sure they are. Where else could they be?" Nikolas said.


Ambrosia throws her arms up and says, "Let's just go, we need to get mom back before something bad happens to her!"
