At a blood-thirsty castle in Dover, England, the chief vampire Lazarus has taken a woman from her home and holds her captive. He needs the blood from her to keep him young and powerful.
Drusilla is loved by her husband and her daughter, Ambrosia, but when Lazarus turns her into a vampire, she has no idea that she had a past life. 
As time passes, after her mother's disappearance Ambrosia meets Nikolas, a young man. They fall in love, but it is finally revealed that Nikolas is Lazarus's son and is controlled by his father. Nikolas must find a way to turn Ambrosia into a vampire for his father's vampire kingdom, but he goes against his father's wishes and turmoil begins. 
Talon and Ambrosia must save Drusilla; the only way is for Talon to kill Lazarus. Will she be saved in time, or will she die in the vampire's abyss?

SECRETS IN THE SHADOWS

While Nikolas sleeps, Talon and Ambrosia go out into the town just to see if they see Drusilla anywhere near them. As they walk through the town, there isn't single soul around, not even at the bar. The town looks like a ghost town. 


While Lazarus enters the vampire abyss, he sits at his throne and waits for his pack to arrive. Drusilla still sleeps until it becomes night. Ambrosia and Talon do not head to the castle without Nikolas because they don't feel as though they could do anything without him, especially Lazarus, since he is the head vampire. They both head back to the house and wait for Nikolas to awake.


It starts to become nightfall and Lazarus is the only one at the abyss, Drusilla is not even there. He starts to wonder where his pack is. He sits there and waits for hours, thinking that they are hunting before they get to the abyss. Lazarus becomes stunned that Drusilla is not there yet, so he decides to go back to the castle to check on Drusilla.
