At a blood-thirsty castle in Dover, England, the chief vampire Lazarus has taken a woman from her home and holds her captive. He needs the blood from her to keep him young and powerful.
Drusilla is loved by her husband and her daughter, Ambrosia, but when Lazarus turns her into a vampire, she has no idea that she had a past life. 
As time passes, after her mother's disappearance Ambrosia meets Nikolas, a young man. They fall in love, but it is finally revealed that Nikolas is Lazarus's son and is controlled by his father. Nikolas must find a way to turn Ambrosia into a vampire for his father's vampire kingdom, but he goes against his father's wishes and turmoil begins. 
Talon and Ambrosia must save Drusilla; the only way is for Talon to kill Lazarus. Will she be saved in time, or will she die in the vampire's abyss?

SECRETS IN THE SHADOWS

After Ambrosia heard the screeching noise, she ran to the side of the castle and his between the trees. Nikolas and Talon follow her. Ambrosia asked Nikolas what that noise was, he just said it is probably just the castle, it's old and makes noise sometimes. Ambrosia looks to him frightened, then Nikolas shows them the way around the rest of the castle. Ambrosia tells Talon and Nikolas that she can't do this, she is too afraid, and she is scared to find her mother dead. Nikolas tells her that it will be okay, then says, "my father probably isn't here, he's out hunting for his next victim. Ambrosia starts shaking her head, as if she isn't going to follow through, but then Talon pulls her near him and says, "Ambrosia, snap out of it. We aren't going to find your mother dead. We need to save her quickly."


"How about if I look around the inside of the castle first to check if my father is here? Nikolas asked.


"Yes. Do that first." Ambrosia replied.
