Chapter 9: Betrayal

“Excuse me?” Emilia asked, stepping forward. Tommy held a hand up to her. She arched an eyebrow at him.

“Jason, you’re supposed to call before showing up,” Tommy said, glaring at his agent.

“What?” Jason asked, still grinning. “This is pure gold. Her backstory needs to be fleshed out a bit, but Emilia is going to be an epic character going forward!”

Emilia turned sharp, piercing eyes to Tommy. She put her hand over her un-beating heart, the pain of betrayal stinging worse than anything she’d felt in decades.

“You used me?” Emilia asked.

“Honey, he took your name and your face, and he is going to make you a star,” Jason said laughing. Tommy growled and snatched the sketches from Jason’s hands.

“Get out of here!” Tommy snapped. “I’ll call you later and we’ll talk about this.”

“Sure, sure, have it your way,” Jason said shaking his head. He sighed. “Artists, you’re all divas.”
