Chapter 45: The Twilight Hours

“Everyone in the resistance seems ready to follow you,” Tommy said.

“I can be quite regal, apparently,” Emilia said, giggling lightly.

“That’s not surprising,” Tommy said.

It was daytime, or above ground it was, and that meant all the vampires were sleeping… all except Emilia.

She had apparently become attached to the round table of the resistance, because while the other vampires slept, Emilia sat on the table like a queen on a liter and Tommy rested in one of the chairs.

In less than twelve hours, Amun and his army would be returning, and Tommy wanted to finalize their plan. Emilia had explained it very clearly, but there were parts Tommy didn’t understand, or that he wasn’t prepared to understand.

“I’d like to have this table in the throne room, once we reclaim the palace,” Emilia said. She threw her head back, her blond curls brushing the reddish surface of the table.

“I thought you were getting attached to it,” Tommy chuckled.
