I couldn’t believe this moment was finally happening. My head was screaming to stop him, to not let this happen. I knew the consequences. But my heart.
I could feel his breath on my lips. His touch and warmth only centimeters from mine.
“Buzz, Buzz, Buzz.” A loud hostile noise rang out. We both froze. I shifted my glance down to his wrist. He lowered his hands from my face. Stepping back from me, he fumbled with his watch, snoozing the alarm, and looked up at me.
“We have to go.” He replied. He bent down and began to put his shoes and coat on.
“Carson…” I began.
“The moon will be out in a few hours. We have to go.” He explained cutting me off.
“Would you just stop.” I cried grabbing his arm. He paused still avoiding my stare.
“What is happening?” I asked. Longing for him to tell me this wasn’t a mistake, that he felt the same way about me that I did him, and to say screw the full moon and to kiss me the way I hoped he had wanted too a few seconds ago. But he didn’t.
