Chapter 34

I had never run so fast in my life. I dodged tree branches and leaped over roots as if I had a sixth sense about where they were located. I’m still not sure of the earth was bending to my will that night, and making a path for me through the forest so I could make it back faster, or if my adrenaline was just so high, that I was on another level. In either case we made it back in record time. We put Carson in the back of Gavin’s car and Sophie rode with us. Sage and Lucas took his Jeep, and each car went in opposite directions. If the pack did come after us, we didn’t want whomever they chose to follow to lead them to the rest of the group.

The plan was to drive for an hour in random directions and then once it was clear to head back to the meeting spot at the Reserve.
