Chapter 46

I closed my eyes and leaped. The air around us rushed upward as we plummeted off the side of the peak. I held onto Carson and focused my thoughts. Then, the air stopped. I waited for the pain, for the inevitable crash when our bodies would meet the jagged rocks below. But it never came. I opened my eyes and looked around. Carson was smiling, laughing. We floated slowly down the side of the cliff, and hovered about five feet above the ground before we dropped. We both landed solidly on our feet. My levitation power had saved us. I was able to levitate something, someone other myself. I stood in awe looking up at the four-thousand-foot drop that we just traversed.

“We made it.” I sighed still in shock. Carson laughed ecstatic at our successful landing.

“We did, because of you.” He smiled pulling me close. I gazed back up at the cliff side.

“I did that.” I replied pointing up.
