"Take the day to recover," Aerin announced for all to hear. Showing mercy where I wouldn't. We were better off continuing the trial instead of wasting time. I had far better things to do than spend them here.
Spitting a curse beneath my breath, I turned to Crowe and Ves, locked in some debate, and left without a word. It was still dawn. And aside from cultivating, there was nothing to do. Nothing but aimlessly wander.
"Izalith?" A dark voice called from behind, sending jitters dancing along my spine.
"Damion," I replied, noticing that devilish smile on his lips, the slight tilt of his head as he stared with a hint of superiority. "What can I do for you?"
"Lots, I believe." He folded his arms and looked me over. "Not every devil needs to be an enemy."
"Nor a friend." I denounced.
